AVA's Little Secret

Chapter 14

They all went into the kitchen and before long, the cookies were ready and they all enjoyed it laughing and chatting, except Ava. Her mood automatically changed the moment Avery introduced herself as Daniel's girlfriend.

Ava sat down at the sitting room with Daniel and Avery. They were so busy cuddling each other.

Taking her glass of orange juice, she took a mouth full and gulped down hard. It was so difficult for her to see him with someone else. Even if she knows he can never reciprocate her feelings for him, it's still hurts to see him cuddling with Avery.

So she decided to leave the sitting room and go back to the guest room where she is staying.

"Where are you going?" Daniel asked as soon he saw Ava got up from the chair she was sitting.

"Back to the room." she replied.

"Why?, the programme is about to start. And you were the one nagging me that you must see it." he continued.

"I know, I will still come down. I want to use the restroom." she explained.

"Okay, don't take time."

"Okay." Ava replied before heading to the guest room. When she entered the room, she went straight to the bathroom.

Standing in front of the mirror, she examined herself and saw that she was not an inch close to Avery. Not facially or in body features. Avery have the looks and the shape but she has nothing.

Her breast is very small, her body has no curve. Her look is practically awful. And that's when she realized that she stand no chance at all. Daniel can never look in her direction. If she were not his sister, he wouldn't have looked at her twice. What a fate. The realisation caused her to sit on the water closet and cried like she never did but very conscious not to be loud.

After a while she entered the shower and allowed the water to wash her tears away. When she got out, she dressed up and decided to go back to the sitting room.

When she entered the sitting room, she was shocked with the sight that she met. Ava saw Daniel kissing Avery. The kiss was heated and intensed. They were actually licking and swallowing each other's saliva.

Ava stood there watching them, with her eyes filled with unshed tears. Just immediately, Daniel lifted Avery up and made her straddle her legs around his waist and made his way towards his room.

When Ava saw him lifting her up, she went into the kitchen and hid there, until she heard the sound of his door. And that's when she came out and ran back to the room she was occupying.

Shutting the door, Ava slide down resting her back on the door and allowing the unshed tears in her eyes to trail down her cheeks freely. It was horrible and painful.

'Why can't it be me?' she asked herself.

This only forced her to face the reality, that she can never have him the way she wanted.

Ava didn't know when she slept, all she knew was she woke up and found herself on the ground. Then she realized that she must have cried herself to sleep.

Then she got up, entered the bathroom and freshened up. Getting to the dining table, she saw Daniel in the kitchen preparing Beacon and eggs.

"Hey Princess, what happened to your eyes?" Daniel asked her the moment he saw her eyes.

"I don't know, woke up like this." She replied praying he doesn't press further.

"That's unusual. I will go to pharmacy later to get you medicine and eye drop."

"That won't be necessary. When I get home, I will ask Magdalene." Ava said.

"But Princess, you can't walk around like that all day, I have to get it for you since you will be seeing Magdalene tomorrow."

"No I will see her today. Actually I'm going back home today."

"Why?, you were supposed to leave tomorrow. What's the matter?"

"I just miss mum. I need to go back home, I will come back another weekend."

"Okay. If you say so, I will definitely miss you."

And after breakfast, Ava picked her things and left Daniel's house back to her home.

Ava was still lying down on her bed when she heard a knock on her door. When she opened the door, she saw Sandra standing there.

"Ma'am Lisa wants to see you." Sandra said to Ava.

"Okay, where is she?" Ava asked.

"She's in the sitting room." Sandra replied.

"Okay, I will be there." Ava said.

Then Sandra turned around and left. While Ava shut her door and went downstairs to the sitting room.

Entering the living room, she saw Lisa and Ashton there, the both of them looking surprised. Then she heard a voice she hasn't heard in a long time. Daniel's.

That's when she turned her attention to the source, where the voice was coming from, the television.

And that's when she received the shock of her life. On the television is Daniel and by the side is a picture of her. With the word MISSING written on it.

Then she heard Daniel pleading to world to help him find his sister. He said he was ready to pay any amount of money to anyone who will help him find his Little Princess.
They should just contact him, if anyone sights Ava Huston.

And that's when she knew she was busted. She didn't want anyone to know she's a Huston or have a relationship with the Hustons.

Now her picture is all over the world, she's no longer save. Daniel can easily find her now, and she started shivering. Not because of cold, but for what is to come. She thought she has left her life behind and that she can move on with her baby. But no, that does not seem to be the case.

"Why didn't you tell me you are Ava Huston?" Lisa asked bringing her out of her thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to keep my identity a secret. I'm so sorry."

"If Daniel finds out you've been here all this time and we didn't let him know, he can destroy us."

"Please I'm begging you, don't send me away, Daniel will never find out, I promise you. He won't." Ava cried.

"Daniel is a very powerful man, with alot of resources." Lisa added.

"I promise you, my brother is very kind. He won't do anything to the family that took me in when I had no where to go. Besides, if you send me away, I won't go back home, I will still go into the street. Please." she pleaded with them.

"We will allow you to stay, but you have to remain inside, until the announcement becomes old news."

"Thank you, thank you so much."

Ava was grateful to the Grays. Lisa has been like an elder sister to her, always making sure that she's comfortable and that she sees her doctor on every appointment. Same with Ashton, who always spends time with her. And also accompanies her to her doctors appointment.

When the doctor asked her and Ashton if they wanted to know the sex of the baby, Ava said no, that she's not interested in knowing the baby's sex. That she wants it to be a surprise when she will have the baby and Ashton agreed with her.

Daniel has still not received a call about his princess. It's been 2weeks since the announcement and the announcement was also online. He has tried all he could., but he refuse to give up.

He knows his PI is still searching for Ava and he also knows that very soon he will receive a positive call. He just have to be patience.
