"Soooo, I told the guy, I'm not a gold digger..." The woman's voice in front of Chris slowly trailed off as he looked past her head of red hair as he skimmed the restaurant for anything remotely entertaining.

He was about to give up before making eye contact with a former close friend of his, Jazzmyne. She made a face at him before turning her head, talking to the host.

Not that easy. He thought

"Will you excuse me? A business associate just came in." Chris interrupted smoothly as he stood from his seat, straightening out his tux. The woman looked taken aback for a second before a smile returned to her face.

"Well, sure. I'll just be here." Chris felt her emerald gaze follow him as he made his way to Jazzmyne, who was currently in the middle of cursing under her breath.

    "Jazzmyne."

"Chris." Jazzmyne said his name, her tone slightly bitter with a hint of frustration. The dark beauty was definitely not in the mood to be in his presence and she had no problems of showing it.

"You look nice, Red is your color. Whose accompanying you on this fine evening?" Chris smiled to hide his true intentions of asking the question.

"You don't truly care about that. You're only asking to see if Alia is with me." Jazzmyne replied bluntly, eyeing him. "To not waste your time further, she's not with me. Please leave."

Chris was majorly disappointed at her answer and also hurt at the way she was currently treating him. "Jazzmyne, I—"

"Save it. You know what, you have really have some balls to walk up to me, and act like you didn't do a damn thing, Chris. Did you know that it took her awhile to recover from your—"

"Baby...Calm down." A deep voice drew the attention of both pairs of eyes as they settled on the Tall, muscled, dark skin man. He leaned down to set a kiss on her lips, seeming to calm her immediately. "Is he bothering you?"

Chris raised his eyebrow as he looked over at Jazzmyne who smirked before looking up at the man warmly. "No, Baby. Just an old friend." She made of show of using her left hand to cup the mans face, her diamond ring glistening as they shared another kiss.

    "Okay, is A—"

"Okay, bye, Chris." Jazzmyne said abruptly as he pulled her significant other, who looked clueless.

Chris shook his head at the interaction as he made his way back to the red headed beauty that didn't break her concentration with his back through the entire conversation.

"Sorry that took so long, just an old friend." Chris smiled, not reaching his eyes as he was still focusing on not being able to see his former flame. "What were you saying?"

"What was that about? She looked pissed to see you." The red head wasted no time in speaking what was on her mind, as she stared at the mans green gaze that was currently filled with sadness.

Chris sighed before quickly putting his smile back on. "Slight disagreement. That's all."

Chris turned his head towards the table where Jazzmyne was currently located with her significant other, laughing, looking genuinely happy. Chris smiled seeing her happy before it was quickly gone as she turned her head, giving him a nasty glare.

    Okay...She's definitely not over it.

Chris felt his face pale as Jazzmyne gaze fixed onto the woman that was currently accompanying him. If she ever got the chance to talk to him, she was going to tear into his ass like a kid on Christmas.
