 Fluff requested by EnvyDreamous

Zim groaned as he stood on the staircase in front of his HiSkool. The weather reporter had been wrong again. Instead of being bright and beautiful that day, it was raining. And it wasn't your average amount of rain either. It was a downpour. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue. However, thanks to the misleading program, he assumed that it would be fine to not bathe in paste for just that day.

He was wrong.

"That cursed human..." he grumbled. This would be the last time he would trust the television. "What's the matter, spaceboy?" Asked a familiar voice behind him. Zim knew the voice all too well. "Is the rain scaring you?" They mocked. "Shut up Dib-stink," Zim growled. Despite 6 years passing, Dib never lost interest in Zim. Sure, he had matured a bit, but his fascination for the alien never vanished. There was just something about him that made him unlike other people. And it wasn't the fact that he was an extraterrestrial. "You seem pretty afraid to me," Dib continued. "Afraid? Zim is never afraid!" Zim shouted. It was at that moment that a loud, thundering sound was heard, making Zim screech.

"Not afraid, huh?" Dib teased. "Come on, it's just a little thunder." Zim crossed his arms. "If you came here just to taunt me, then you better take your business somewhere else," he growled. Dib chuckled in response. "Although it is pretty fun to piss you off, that's not why I'm here," he started as he took out a small box from his pocket. He pushed a button that was at the top of it, making it transform into an umbrella. "Do you want to join me under my umbrella? You may be my enemy, but I'm going to need you alive if I want our battles to continue."

Zim scoffed. "Do you take me as a fool, Dib-stink? I would rather spend the rest of my life on the planet Quuiries than share an umbrella with you!" More thunder was heard, making Zim wince. Then, he groaned. "Listen human, listen very carefully," he began."I hate you, however, I don't want to stand here all day. So, fine. I'll walk with you," he said reluctantly. "Oh, I'm sorry, what did you say?" Dib asked with a cocky smile. "I said I'll walk home with you," the alien growled. He didn't have time for any of the human's games right now. He needed to return home so he could contact his Tallest, and this wasn't helping.

"Well, alright," Dib said with a smirk. He then made a motion for Zim to stand next to him. "Come on, don't be shy." The alien growled, but did what he was told. "Once we get to my base, I will blow your stupidly large head off the face of the Urth," he snarled. Dib chose to ignore him.

The walk was actually pretty peaceful, despite the circumstances. No harsh words were exchanged at all. Well, not until it started getting windy, at least. "Dib-stink, walk faster! Zim is freezing to death!" Zim yelled, shivering. "Zim, this is as fast as I can go," Dib responded. He missed the silence between them. "Well, figure something else out then!" That caused Dib to stop. Then, he took off his coat and held it out to the alien. One of Zim's antennae perked up. "Well? Are you going to take it, or not?" The human asked impatiently.

Zim felt his face heat up. Why did that simple action make him feel weird? He snatched the coat and put it on quickly, hiding his face in the process.  He didn't want his enemy to see him in such a vulnerable state. That would be absolutely humiliating.

"Hey, Zim, is all of your species that short?" Dib asked, pointing towards him. On Zim, his jacket went up to his lower legs, emphasizing his small stature. "No, not at all," Zim responded. "In fact, being this...short... is considered a negative thing on Irk. The taller you are, the more power you have. That's how our 'government' works," he explained simply.

"Oh, wow," Dib responded in awe. Of course, not in the good way. If anything he was concerned for Zim, considering his size. Life must've been awful on that planet for him. Being seen as a lesser being and all. "Do humans care about height?" Zim inquired.

"Most people don't," Dib started. "Like me. I wouldn't care if you were two feet tall or ten. Because, no matter what, I would always see you as an equal." He pulled the alien closer to him. "And if we're being honest, I think it's pretty cute that you're this small," he stated, blushing. Zim did the same.

"Zim is not cute! Zim is threatening! In fact, your tiny human brain cannot comprehend how scary I am!" He shouted. Dib smirked. "Sure... you keep telling yourself that. Anyways, we're here." The boys stood in front of the tall base. Fortunately for them, the rain had cleared up. "You can thank me later," Dib stated, not losing the smirk. He then turned around to leave, but was stopped when Zim put his hand on his shoulder. He faced him with a confused expression. He was about to ask him what he was doing, but was stopped when Zim connected both of their mouths.

It was only for a few seconds, but it meant the world to Dib. Truth be told, he had been harboring feelings for the little alien for months. And now, he could finally set them free.

Zim finished giving him a peck on the lips and stood there, blushing. "There's your payment...f-for walking me to my base. Now, begone!" He yelled. But Dib couldn't just leave after what had happened. "Wait, Zim, I.. uh..." he facepalmed. Clearly, his attempts of talking were futile. So, he simply crashed his lips onto Zim's to get his point across.

He expected him to pull away, but to his surprise, Zim kissed back. So, he decided to deepen the kiss and wrap his arms around his waist. The alien returned the gesture by doing the same thing around his neck. For a first kiss, things were going pretty great, and Dib was proud. But, eventually they needed to separate for breath.

"Not bad, eh?" Dib asked him, smirking. Zim responded by simply crossing his arms. "Well, I have to get going, we'll talk about this tomorrow, okay?" Then, the human left, leaving Zim in his flustered state.

Despite living on Earth for a such a long time, he never expected to share a kiss with his enemy.
