Chapter 24

A weeks gone by, and I can finally talk again.

I haven't talked to Luke or Hayes, but I see Jordan a lot. Whatever...

I'm strong enough to run again. So of course I take the opportunity.

This time I actually stop at Hayes' house

I knock on his door

Nash opens it

"Hi" he says, puzzled,but smiling

"Hi! I'm Olivia, Hayes' friend. Can I talk to him?"
I ask nervous

He nods and screams for Hayes

Hayes comes down the stairs with a small smile

"Hi" he says, confused

"Hi I really need to talk to you" I say, fast and nervous

I know just the place

Moments later, we're on the lifeguard chair

"I'm sorry about the other day" I say, looking down

"Nahhh. it wasn't your fault. Actually you helped the issue. Thanks for slapping them" he says smiling

Then we just look out at the ocean for a good 10 minutes

"I'm so lucky to be near the actual Hayes Grier. Like million of girls would kill to be me" I say, red as a tomato

"Well at least your calm about it. Some fans would be hyped up and taking selfies 24/7" he says laughing

I just stare at him while he checks his feed on Instagram

But not in a stalkerish kind of way

Just in a "Friend" way

Then he gets a text

"😚hey poo bear😘"

He types something quick

"✌️😚😚"

Who is that?!

I guess he sees me looking

"Oh yeah, forgot to tell you. Jordan and I are a thing again" he says with a crooked smile

"Oh. Should I leave? Is it awkward? I can if it i-" I say almost about to cry

Then he looks at me

"No. we're hanging out as friends" he says slowly

"Okay.."

"I think I should give you my number so you don't have to knock on my door" he says laughing

I smile

I give him mine and put him down as:

That works, I guess

It's almost 7

"Laura probably wants me to walk the dogs so I gotta get going" I say, sadly

"I have to walk Keeda. Wanna walk them together?" he says

"I would be honored" I say grinning widely

This was totally a normal day.
