shawn is, and forever will be your best friend

he helps you with guy problems, and you help him with his girl problems, as well as his homework

and you guys have so much in common, it's insane

which is another reason why everyone thinks you're going to date

but, that will never happen

shawn doesn't like you, and you certainly don't like him

you know this because, well, you know your own feelings

and you actually set shawn up with girls

but no matter what, you still have each other's backs on anything

you were walking to class with your best friend of five years, when shawn approached the two of you

" can you go to homecoming with me? " he asks and you furrow your eyebrows

he was supposed to go with (random girls name), he asked her today

" she said no " he mouthed and you nodded

" yeah, sure " you give him a small smile which he returns, before walking away

" you guys are soooo gonna date " your best friend says

" we're soooo gonna not. we don't like each other! " you exclaim and your best friend rolls their eyes

" he just asked you to homecoming, y/n! " they exclaim and you shrug

" that means nothing. the girl he planned on taking didn't work out, so he asked me
instead " you explain

" but he could've just asked another girl. but he asked you " the emphasize

" okay, whatever. he doesn't like me, i don't like him. we're just friends, nothing more. "

" hey " shawn says, approaching you from behind as he wraps an arm around your shoulders
" hey " you mumble
" what's up with my girlfriend? why isn't she happy? do i need to get down on one knee with a thousand dollar ring? " he jokes and you roll your eyes

shawn will occasionally joke around by calling you his girlfriend, but when it comes to you two, there's no meaning for the word

" she's tired, and pissed off because everyone thinks we're dating now because you asked me to homecoming " you reply and shawn rolls his eyes

" just wait until everyone finds out we're going to prom together " shawn groans

you and shawn had agreed to go to prom together, since the two of you most likely wouldn't have a significant other to go with

" i know " you groan

" well, let's go to my car, we'll go to starbucks, get your usual and then chill out at mine and watch movies. sound good? "

didn't really know how to end this, but i wrote this based off of my relationship with my guy best friend, and everything i wrote pretty much happened/happens

we're going to prom together, he calls me his girlfriend, i set him up with girls, he talks me through my boy problems and EVERYONE thinks we're gonna date

and to anyone that's frustrated because they're going through the same thing, i feel you!!!
