Ch 3: Settling into the Supernatural

Asia POV
"Yaaawn~" I yawned while opening my eyes, only to see I was surrounded by black feathers. "W-what? Is this another nightmare?" I asked myself in confusion.

"Nope, you're wide awake Asia." A male voice told me. I turned to the voice and saw Y/N right next to me.

Suddenly it all came back to me, Y/N, Azazel and my new home. Wait, Y/N was right next to me?

"Eep! Y-you're so close! W-wait does that mean these are your wings around us Y/N?" I asked him while blushing from embarassment.

"Yep, you looked cold last night in just your underware and one of my t-shirts. So I figured this might help warm you up." He said with an earnest smile.

"T-thank you then, Y/N. What are we doing today?" I inquired to the boy looking after me.

"Well I thought we could handle the whole clothing issue you've got. I mean all your stuff is still in that church in Kuoh, afterall." He explained to me.

"So, we're going back there?" I confirmed. "Won't the devils be angry at you? They don't really like fallen angels from what I understand."

He gave me a mischievous grin and said "They can't get mad if they don't find out, right?"

"If you say so, Y/N." I said as I slightly worried for the day ahead.

Time Skip: Y/N POV

Me and Asia stepped out of my magic circle, into the abandoned church where I saved her the night before. I had some flattened cardboard boxes with me, to hold Asia's things of course.

"Here we are, Asia. Now let's get packing before we attract any company." I warned her before we left for her old room.

We got to the room pretty quickly and after a while of packing I picked up a small plushie of a black and yellow mouse. "Hey Asia, where'd you get this little guy?" I asked her while holding it up for her to see.

Asia's face then lit up. "Oh, I got that from Issei when we went to an arcade." She explains to me while remembering her first day out with a friend.

"Well then we better keep it safe, right? Wouldn't want it to get rui-" I replied before cutting myself off and signalling Asia to be quiet too.

"I sense a Devil nearby... no not just nearby, coming straight for the Church!" I said in a whispered shout. "Stay here and keep packing I'll handle this. After all, It's my job to protect you."

"Y-Y/N wait! Be careful!" Asia tried to warn me while keeping her voice down at the same time, but it was too late as I had already left the room.

As I headed towards where I sensed the Devil, I overheard a feminine voice thinking aloud. "This is perfect, those little heiresses won't expect me to be here. I can feast on all the little humans I want, hahaha!"

"Yeah about that, not happening lady." I interupt her laugh as I approach her.

She turns around and sees me. "Ohoho, my first little snack has already appeared. My how lucky am I?"

"I ain't your food, Devil trash. You're my training dummy for the afternoon." I said with venom in my voice.

"You think you can fight me, very well then. Just try it!" She taunts me before transforming her lower half and arms into monsterous features.

Without missing a beat, I summon my spear and send it flying straight into one of her now numerous legs.

"W-why does this hurt so much?!" She screamed in pain and confusion.

"That'd be the fact my Sacred Gear is imbued with holy power." I said before having it fly out of her leg and float by my side. "And if you think that's bad, you'll love this." I continued as the spear glowed a golden light before splitting into multiple, smaller lights of the same colour.

"SPIRIT SPEAR CHASTIEFOL, FIFTH CONFIGURATION: INCREASE!!" I shouted before the lights took the form of small kunai-like knives and shot off, turning her into a pincushion of holy weapons.

Black smoke began to rise from her wounds, as she falls on her knees, well as much as she can with that many legs. "AAHH PLEASE SPARE ME!! I'LL DO ANYTHING!!" She pleaded.

"Not gonna happen monster, you said you were gonna hurt humans and I won't let you get away with even the idea of that!!" I told her as the knives return to me before returning to their original form. "NOW REPENT FOR YOUR SINS IN HELL, DEVIL SCUM!!!" I loudly proclaim before sending Chastiefol out and cutting her clean down the middle and turning to ash before she even hit the ground.

"Y'know that I can tell you're watching me?" I said aloud before turning around. "Right, Asia?"

"S-sorry, but I was worried about you getting hurt so I came in case I needed to heal you." She explained apologetically.

"It's no big deal, but just how much did you see?" I asked in concern.

"S-since the beginning." She answered honestly. "Did you really mean what you said, about not letting her hurt humans?"

"I did, I won't stand by while innocent humans get hurt from a world they don't know exists." I told her while looking into her emerald green eyes. "I told you my Mother was human right? Well she believed in keeping humans safe, that's why the Grigori have taken in so many humans, yourself included."

"And the part where you called her 'devil trash'?" She asked me.

I averted my gaze from hers for a moment before replying "I don't really like devils, I know that not all of them are evil but I'm not fast to trust them. I suppose you should know why, I mean you'd find out eventually anyways." I told her before continuing "When I told you my Mother died, I never told you how that happened. She wasn't ill and she didn't die of old age either. She was killed in cold blood, murdered... by a devil."

"W-why would they do that to her?" Asia asked while consoling me. "If she helped so many people why would they kill her?"

"That's why they killed her Asia, because she helped so many people, the devils had trouble finding targets for their peerages. The Devil leaders, The Four Satans deny all involvement claiming it was a stray devil, a devil that killed it's master and went rogue like the one I just killed." I explained. "My Father had to accept that since he wasn't there, that and if he dug any deeper he could restart the Great War."

"I'm so sorry for your loss Y/N, I really am." Asia continued to console me.

"I-it's fine, thanks for worrying about me by the way." I thanked her with a blush. "But we should really be on our way, I probably released enough energy to alert every devil in town of our presence... so let's grab what we've packed already split. I'd rather not fight even more devils today."

"Right, let's go Y/N. Let's go back home." She said the last part quietly to herself but I still caught it. She really is cute, huh?
