You startle awake to a hand touching your shoulder.
Sleepily, you look up, but there's no one there. You glance around, and see Manfred sitting beside you, but his hands are bound in front of him. Who...?
"Y/N." Your eyes fly open at the voice, and you open your mouth, but you feel a hand cover it. "It's me. I'm invisible." It takes a couple moments of your mind whirling for you to recognize Herobrine's voice. "Come, we're leaving."
"Manfred." You say, muffled behind his hand. "He's gotta come." A pause.
"Clearly his treachery didn't last long." The Enderman's eyes are closed.
"He told me that guy made him." You protest. "He didn't try to, we have to get him."
"Fine." The spiderwebs on Manfred's wrists snaps, and the Enderman opens his eyes with a questioning chirp. ".emoC" Herobrine orders, and he nods, teleporting to his feet. Leaning down, Manfred picks you up and lifts you out of the hole.
"Why can't we just teleport out?" You whisper, staring at the moving shapes in the fog.
"I cannot run the risk of this person being able to copy my teleport command and follow us there." Herobrine rumbles next to your ear. "We walk out of camp." You nod as he pulls you to your feet, and you stick close to Manfred's side as the Enderman leads you through the camp.
You make your way through the fog, focused on your feet to keep from tripping. You see a couple of other mobs clearly, but they pay you no heed.
Finally, you see daylight ahead, through the fog, but when you open your mouth to breathe a sigh of relief you are interrupted by the sound of an arrow whizzing through the air. A growl of pain sounds from behind you, and you spin around to see an arrow sticking into an invisible body. You grip his hand tighter, pulling him towards the edge of the fog, but stop short at the sight of a pitch-black figure standing in front of you.
"Found you."
".og dna N/Y ekaT" Herobrine orders, shoving his wife towards Manfred. A burst of purple lights up the fog for a split second, but the Enderman remains.
".dekcolb si noitatropelet yM" he growls, and Herobrine draws a sword. He can feel the potion wearing off, his only advantage fleeting.
".elttab ruo morf yawa reh ekat nehT" He demands, but the creature in front of him clicks his tongue.
"And miss out on all the excitement? No, no, you two can stay." Y/N is clinging to Manfred's arm as skeleton archers surround them, forming a sort of mock arena. "How exciting to meet you at last, your majesty. I thought you were never going to come out of your castle." Herobrine doesn't respond.
He has a bow, and some arrows, on him, which improve his chances but not by much. He can call lightning, but it takes a great deal of energy to do so, and he needs that to escape with Y/N. Besides, even if he did manage to strike his opponent down, he would be quickly overwhelmed if the rest of the mobs decided to intervene. He had to get Y/N out of the action, she was unarmored and couldn't defend herself. Maybe if he distracted him-
Wait, why was Y/N his priority, anyway?
He shoves those thoughts aside. This is not the best time to be examining his mindset. The entity in front of him has a sword, and is starting to approach. Undoubtedly he means to kill him.
Taking a block of obsidian in one hand and a sword in the other, Herobrine plants his foot and dashes forwards off it, slashing at the figure's heart.
The strike is deflected easily, followed up by a stab at his head. Herobrine ducks underneath it, then places the obsidian, pushing off it to give him extra momentum as he charges at the creature again. Again, his strike is blocked, and the blade nicks his arm as it passes through his sleeve. This is not a situation he can see himself getting out of.
