XThis is going to be a different chapter, really. More serious, and from our favorite birdie, Dick's perspective :)

This also has a bit of, ahem, very light shrexy content, but not enough to actually make it rated M. There'll be a warning when the dirty stuff comes tho.

Dick's POV:

I knew Barbara was breaking up with me. I knew it.

Ever since we (mutually, I might add) decided to take a break about 6 c̶h̶a̶p̶t̶e̶r̶s̶  weeks ago, it hadn't been the same between us. I ended up flirting with other girls a bit, but I didn't know it would come to this.

"Earth to Dick? Hello? I need to tell you something."

I was dimly aware she was talking to me, but I wasn't listening.

She tapped my arm. "Dick, you OK?"

"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine, babe. What's up?" I said smoothly.

"Dick, these past couple of years have been really fun. But, I think we should see other people. It's just, not the same anymore. I'm really, really sorry. Can we still be friends, maybe?"

I blinked. "Uh, yeah, I was thinking that, um, too. Yeah. We can still be friends, I guess, heh." I lied.

She smiled, that beautiful smile of hers. "I'm glad we can still be friends."

Goddamnit, she's slipping away, just tell her that you can't lose her, goddamnit.

I can't lose her, but I already had a feeling it would come to this anyway.

She stood up. "I guess I should get going then,"

I snapped back to reality. "Right, yeah. I'll um, I'll walk you to your car."

As I got inside, I felt so empty.

I walked upstairs sadly, nearly tripping over one of Damian's cats.

The house was quiet. Jayson was out doing who knows what, Tim and Damian were doing homework, Alfred was...somewhere in the manor, doing whatever he does in his free time, and Bruce was on a business trip.

Sighing, I plopped down on my bed. I didn't even feel like turning on my Xbox or even watching TV.

Against my better judgment, I scrolled through my contacts list, my finger finally landing on Kori.

Shrugging, I texted her.
