John placed his elbow on the control panel, resting his chin in his palm as he once again stared at the clock.
Three hours.
They had been traveling at high speed through the sea for three hours now, and they still didn't come across anything.
He sighed.
"Don't worry. There's bound to be somethin' out there. A different sea... hopefully..."
Even he was starting to doubt that they were ever going to reach the end. Not even the Sea of Time was this expansive.
No sea was as huge as this one, he figured.
At least the Sea of Nowhere had an end. And even then, it still had more in it than...
John looked down at Jeremy, who was pacing around.
Did he know the severity of the situation?
Jeremy was surely smarter than the rest of them, but John knew that he was probably too young to comprehend the possibility that they could never escape.
John didn't want to believe that that was a possibility himself, but he knew better.
He looked over to his right, spotting that Paul was staring out a porthole.
"At least there's somethin' I can do..." He quietly said, standing up.
Paul heard John's footsteps, but he did not bother to advert his gaze from the void outside.
"Paul?"
He looked to his left.
"What?"
John sighed and put his hand on Paul's shoulder.
"Paul. Look at me," He said softly.
Paul sighed, slowly turning his head.
"What do you want?"
John pulled the younger man closer to him.
"Are you worried?"
Paul trembled.
"Y-yes..."
John pulled Paul into a hug.
"Shh," John said as he placed a hand in the bassist's hair.
"It's goin' to be okay."
Paul looked up at him.
"B-but... we've b-been here for..."
"Just don't think about it Paul. This sea can't go on forever, you know."
"I know... but..."
Paul sighed and glanced over at the porthole.
"I wish that we don't h-have to wait much longer..."
"Me too."
Paul looked back up at John, seeing that he too started to look worried.
"Um... What do you want to do now?" He asked.
John looked around for a moment, thinking.
"How about we just go sit down."

Six hours.
The fact that they have been sitting down for three hours without anything happening was causing Paul to feel himself slipping from reality.
They had been in the sea for six hours, and they had not come across anything at all.
Was the sea endless?
The question made Paul shudder to think about.
There was no way that the sea could go on forever. It was impossible, and Paul knew it. Soon enough, they would all finally be freed from the darkness that they have been stuck in for hours.
However, deep down, Paul knew the truth.
If they had come across nothing yet, then who's to say they will?
Paul sighed, laying back down next to John, who was staring off into the system of pipes above him.
Thinking was the last thing that he wanted to do right now, but it was all that he had to do.
George and Ringo were off eating an apple. Jeremy was writing in a book, most likely writing down theories of how they could have entered the Sea of Darkness, or maybe he was trying to understand how such a sea could exist.
Paul understood why he wanted answers.
They all wanted answers, after all.
He looked to his left, seeing that John was still lost in his own little world.
He briefly wondered what John was thinking about.
Was John just as worried and scared as he was? Or was he still calm? Is he trying to shut out reality and pretend that he was back in Pepperland?
Paul felt an urge to ask John about what he was thinking about forming within him.
With one last glance, he laid his head back down onto the floor.
John probably didn't want to be bothered right now. Neither did Ringo, George, or Jeremy.
Six hours.
In just that amount of time, so much had changed.
Paul looked over at Ringo and George, seeing that they were still eating. Would they mind if Paul went over to them?
Paul sighed, staring upwards at the pipes, just like John.
He didn't want to disturb their privacy, otherwise, why hadn't they come over to him instead? Maybe they felt the same way.
In the end, Paul knew that there was only one thing that he could do, despite how much he didn't want to do it.
He could only wait for something to happen, something that he had no control over.
