Everything was on plan. Next night, together we slipped inside the castle and successfully freed the prisoners but we failed to escape. Helga knows about our plan. Someone from our side betrayed us and sold the plan to Helga. But of course we didn't give up.
During the battle of magics, I faced Helga with Nico and Nova. During our fight I can feel that our force is getting weaker. Even for me, it's hard to fight with this sword against the powerful Queen but I keep in mind what Marvin always said, I always had the power and the strength I needed, all I have to do is to believe.
" Nico, let's do it," Nova shouted as she dodged the attacks of the fairies.
"What?" Nico yelled as he knocked out a soldier.
"Let's do our thing" Nova shouted again.
"No! I wouldn't take a risk. The last time we did it you almost died. I won't let it happen again" Nico disagreed..
"I wouldn't, I promise," Nova shouted.
"No way!" Nico insisted.
"Trust me, besides we have no choice. It's either we die or we're going to do it" Nova said.
Nico thought about it for almost a minute and then he sighed. "Fine", he said.
"Okay, let's go!" they both shouted together.
From their palms a ball of fire came out. They combined the four, forming a big ball of fire then they sent it to Helga. Helga produced a shield to protect herself. Nico caught Nova immediately before she could fall to the ground. I ran to them worriedly.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine," Nova said with labored breathing.
"Finish her Maxine, you can do it" Nico stated.
While Helga was busy struggling with the ball of fire, I took advantage of it. I went to her back and raised the sword in two hands then I stabbed her. She lost control of her shield and it disappeared together with the ball of fire. I removed the sword from her back and took five steps backwards. Helga faces me.
"You mortal! How dare you?" she shouted angrily.
She was about to produce a tornado to destroy me first but suddenly my necklace glows brighter and brighter that I couldn't see anyone and anything except the light. After a minute the light faded out and Helga was lying lifeless on the ground.
There was a long silence. Everyone in the hall stared at Helga on the ground.
One by one, they all dropped their weapons, "WE WON!" they all shouted and cried happily.
The fairies had been freed from Helga's spell and the powers of the hunters that had been taken came back to them.
The whole Sapphiria came back to life and roots formed again. The fields became green again, flowers bloomed, trees got back to their forms, water came rushing down the rivers, the birds, butterflies and everything came back.
The battle ended. Sapphiria was back again. Chief Emmanuel became the King and we all celebrated for the victory.
After the celebration, with the power of the necklace I came back home after I said goodbye to Nova, Nico, Jico and Zas and to everyone. I promised them that I'll visit them if I have time.
When I came back home, I saw mom and dad on the porch. Dad was comforting mom. Mom was crying.
"Mom, dad, what happened?" I asked.
Mom and Dad ran towards me and hugged me tightly.
"Oh, I thought we lost you. We promise we'll never fight again" mom said wiping her tears away.
"We can't take it anymore if we lost you too" dad agreed with mom.
"I won't be gone, I'll always be with you, mom and dad, because I love you two" I said. "Even though you two always fight", I pouted.
Mom and dad looked at each other.
"Sorry about that", dad apologized.
"We'll try to be more understanding from now on", mom assured.
"We love you too" mom and dad said in unison.
After this tiring day, I found out that I've been missing for two nights.
I guess it wasn't a dream.
