Chapter 57

Jessica's POV

Today is the day for the first meeting of the Sweetener (& thank u, next) World Tour. I decided I'd dress professional today, so I put on skinny dress pants, a white tube top & my light blue Chanel tweed blazer, paired with black peep toed Louboutin's. I put my hair up in my high pony and let my side bangs hang to one side.

I grab my classic black Chanel bag & head downstairs.

"Bye, Justin! Going to my meeting!" I shout out to him.

"Bye babe! Have fun!" he says from the living room. He'd come with me, but it's better for him to stay home with Mia. She'd be so bored at the meeting.

I got into my white classic Cadillac that Justin got me & took the long way out to avoid paparazzi.

Once I got to the office, I sat down with Scooter & some other crew members.

"So..the Sweetener World Tour." Scooter says.

"Yes, we're finally here." I smile.

"Alright, so first things first, cities & dates. Here's what I came up with, sign off on it if you're okay with it, if not, we can discuss."

"It all seems perfect, but what about Manchester?"

"Manchester is still to be dated. We're going to plan a super special show for Manchester."

"Okay, then these are good."

"Our stage designers came up with these layouts from what you invisioned." Scooter hands me sketches of different stage designs.

"This one. This ones perfect. It's a very subtle vagina look, which is what I was going for because of 'God Is A Woman', it has the moon which is the most important, and that sphere on the screen will be so cool for visuals."

"Alright, were good with that then. We need to talk setlist."

"Okay, I have some ideas. I want to open with 'God Is A Woman' & the encore be 'No Tears' and 'thank u, next'. I actually made up a setlist on my phone." I pull out the setlist I made on my notes & handed my phone to Scooter.

"These are all great choices, but where's the new slow songs? Where's 'Better Off' & 'ghostin'?"

I gave him a confused look. "What do you mean? You really think I want to play my most two vulnerable songs from my new albums on tour? No, that's not happening. I'll get way to fucking emotional."

"And why is 'Moonlight' on here? That's from two albums ago now, and it wasn't even a single. You get emotional with that one too."

"Moonlight is on the setlist because it's one of my most meaningful songs to date. I get emotional because it's about Justin. It's a good emotion, not a sad, negative, one. I made this setlist happy & fun. I don't want 'ghostin' or 'Better Off' because they're too sad. This is my first tour since Manchester. I want it to feel healing & safe. I barely want to do 'One Last Time' because it's still so hard to sing, but I'm doing it because I know that's what my fans, my babies, want. If I can't have the setlist the way I want it, then the tour isnt happening."

Scooter sat there quiet for a moment. "Fine. We'll go with your setlist. I got you a meeting with Law tomorrow for the costumes. Send me a copy of the setlist so I can start making contracts & all that."

"K. Are we done here?"

"We can be, I guess. We'll meet up again when you've cooled down."

I rolled my eyes. "I am fucking out of here. I have a husband and baby at home to be with rather than your bitchy ass. Bye Scooter." I say walking out, with my middle finger in the air.
