Teddy's still out when I get home and I'm a little relieved, knowing she was worried about me.  I had been trying to keep smiling but sometimes it was too hard.
It had been a long day so far and all I wanted to do now was shower and fall into bed with a good book. I flick the bedroom light on but stall at the sight of the gift bag on the bed.  Teddy must have put it there but why.
I pick it up and open the bag, reaching in to pull out the stuffed toy, my fingers stroking the soft fur as I look at the tiny Cupid holding a golden bow and arrow, A tag hanging on it's end saying Sorry. P x
I feel my heart ache, its too late now but I can't make myself throw the toy away. Placing it instead on my bedside table and turning away.

I showered and climbed into bed, picking up my book but my eyes kept drifting to the toy, why did he send it?  Pulling the toy to me and stroked the fur again before tucking it into my side and focusing on the book, eventually falling asleep the book on my lap and toy in my arms.
The text message notification woke me the following morning and I stared through tired eyes at the screen
Paul: good morning sunshine, thinking of you x
Again I felt my heart jump as I looked at the words, what was he doing, I felt a burst of anger, he walked away, how dare he do this.  I deleted the text and laid back, feeling a lump underneath me, I wriggled round and pulled free the toy Cupid, scowling at it and throwing it across the room.
I needed coffee!

Teddy was sat at the table when I reached the kitchen and waved a tired hand at me as I poured a coffee. Banging the pot down and making her groan out "sshh, my head is killing me"
"Good" I mutter joining her "When did you see Paul?"
"Yesterday, why, did you not like your gift?"
"I want nothing from him" I said bitterly and she giggled.
"Liar" she whispered.
"What's up with you" I asked her deflecting.
"I had dinner with them last night and Milo insisted we went to a club after, they let me drink too much" she moans and it's my turn to laugh, "I'm surprised they didn't take you home with them"
Teddy blushed red and looked down and I clicked what she was wearing.
"Oh my god, look at you, they took you home, did you?"
"NO" she shrieked embarrassed, "I came back this morning in a taxi, they put me in Milo's room and he went in with Luka, they were still asleep when I left this morning"
"You snuck out, you're brave, you'll be in so much trouble" I laugh at her blushing face and she groans hiding her head in her arms.

xx

Over the next two weeks I get at least one text everyday from Paul, each morning the notification wakes me, or he sends me a message during the day, telling me he's thinking of me, then there have been the gifts, a bunch of wildflowers delivered to my class, my favourite chocolates left in a gift bag at the door, fluffy socks with little arrows on.
I don't reply but I keep the texts and presents, my heart melting a little with each one, but I know it's too big a risk to let him back in. Teddy has tried a couple of times to bring him up in conversation but I shut her down quickly, usually with a comment about the Kingswood brothers.
I know Teddy had seen Paul a couple of times since he had been here for dinner but he had stayed away from the flat and me... it was what I wanted.

Tonight we're going out to a club to unwind and celebrate and Teddy had promised to make sure I don't disgrace myself, I knew I was going to drink, I wanted to lose myself in the music and our friends. I had let the brothers know Teddy would be there, but made them promise to stay away for the first hour, that was our girl time.
Teddy had been acting a bit weird the last couple of days but I know the boys had stepped up their chase, so that was probably what was freaking her out.
I see the boys arrive before she does, as she's on the dance floor with our friends, but I see when she senses them, her body freezing mid step before she forces herself to move again, I can see her turning slightly and searching but she's turned the wrong way and now Niko is behind her, his arms sliding round her waist, pulling her into his body.

I feel a stab of jealousy, god what I wouldn't give for someone to look at me that way. I turn back to the bar and order more drinks, adding two shots to the order and downing them at the bar before heading back to the table where Milo and Luka sat watching their brother with Teddy.
I greet the boys and slide onto a seat, feeling the shots hit my system but still reaching for my drink, the need to lose myself growing by the minute.
I felt the concern from the others round the table and as Teddy came back with Niko, she looked at me, "do you want some water?"
"No, I want to dance" I drank the rest of the drink and slid off the seat, wobbling as I grabbed Milo's arm till I regained my balance and the world stopped spinning and ignoring Teddy's call, I headed for the dance floor.
I love the beat of the music and could feel it pounding through my body as I swayed, the flashing lights adding to the spinning feeling in my mind, I thought I saw Paul but I knew I was wrong, why would he be here, I was here.

The world spun again and I giggled to myself, I needed the bathroom, so pushing through the crowd that way, I brush away the man who grabbed my arm, turning as Teddy called my name, I saw her coming with my bag in her hand, just as strong arms wrapped around my waist and I heard my name growled in my ear. My head spun as I realised it was Paul and my eyes tried to turn to him but I lost my mind, falling into the darkness.
