ESCAPING the BRØKEN

Chapter 9: Reunited

I completely zoned out.

My head started spinning and I was unable to move or even react.

I don't know how long I was stuck in my own head.

I was brought back to reality at the sound of the car door reopening.

Jayden got in with a look of relief on his face as he started the ignition. My head quickly snapped behind me in an attempt to see the extent of the damage as to say I was confused would be a massive understatement. My heart pounded in my chest as Javier sped off in front us while Jayden drove out to match his speed.

"It's Jav- Javier" I stammered "they're ok.." I breathed to myself. I doubt even Jayden could hear me as I could literally hear my voice failing me.

"We're back baby!" Javier yelled through the transceiver.

"Oh Thank God" Patterson sighed. "You scared me!"

"The train just scraped the back of the car. It ripped off the tailgate though. The loud commotion made the impact sound much more devastating than it actually was. We just got a little shaken up that's all." Javier chuckled.

"Is Jas alright!?" I asked.

"Paris?" I heard Jasmine's voice through the transceiver and I finally regained consciousness.

We both started screaming.

I saw Jayden cringe and used one hand to cover his ear.

"You're in Jayden's car aren't you? He just came to check on us, I can't believe it! I have so much to tell you!" Jasmine started " So after the the lady who I think is Jayden's mom walked in on you telling me how he made you cream yourself and we got cut off, Javier decided to take me to work"

I glanced at Jayden with flushed cheeks as he shook his head in disbelief but Jasmine continued "So, we got dressed and were on our way when this Patterson chick told us that we were being followed"

Javier should probably tell her that Patterson is still on the line.

"I was all out panicking so he suggested that I listened music and I figured why not ? It's not like I could do anything about the situation. I couldn't call the cops cause he's the best they've got, no offense" Jas bragged.

I glanced at Jayden with a smug look. Why would I take offense anyway it's not like Jayden and I are together.

"Oh trust me when I say none taken" I smirked at Jayden.

"So I was listening music and sending you multiple texts but you wouldn't respond" Jasmine continued.

Shit, my phone is still at Jayden's in his kitchen.

I face palmed.

"And I couldn't call you because Javier would hear me panicking when he said not to so I was playing my game when some douchebags started shooting at us then our car got hit by a train!!! Like an actual train bitch!! How cool is that!!?" Jasmine screamed.

"Fuçking awesome!" I shouted.

"Jayden I think we should take Jasmine to the hospital to check for possible concussion or brain trauma from the accident" Javier interjected.
