I woke up with a start. Rolling over I groaned, my vision trying to adjust in the darkness of my room, it was a little after 5 in the morning, after the dream that I just had, I knew that I couldn't just fall back asleep, so I stood up out of the comfort of my duvet and grabbed some basketball shorts off the floor. I had decided to go for a run since I knew I wasn't going back to Dreamland and also since school started in about 2 hours. I set off down the familiar path that had been run down with both human footprints and those of abnormally large wolves. It was in dense trees and I was the only human that knew of it. You see, my best friend is a werewolf, and he was part of the pack of wolves that ran our small town. The name of our town was Woods, real original I know, but it was so small, that you couldn't even find it on any map, hence why most people referred to it, as "the town that was never there." I couldn't contain my excitement and pumped my legs to run a little faster, to the little reservation were the wolves lived. Everyone else in town thought them to just be regular old native American people and I felt truly honored to be the only one that truly knew about the existence of the supernatural. I felt bad for them though, having to hide their awesome powers from the world and also not being able to pick their partner in life. Kai was the beta, which meant that if another supernatural creature came into our small town, he was one of the first to know, which meant that if he knew, I knew. He had texted me late last night to tell me that there was a new supernatural in town, one that they didn't even know existed. A dragon. When I saw that, I had wanted to come over as soon as possible, but he said it would be best to just come early in the morning so we could go to school together and he'd tell me in first period.

At last, I had finally arrived in the little wolf village, Kai was obviously waiting for me, as he yelled across the grass to me, "What the hell took you so damn long Bail?" "Oh, I'm sorry," I replied sarcastically "I tend to forget that I am, but a mere human and am therefore unable to travel at impossible speeds so as to arrive within five minutes as opposed to the forty it took me to actually arrive." He grinned sheepishly, "Sorry, I'll be right here when you return." Smirking, I saluted him and walked into his house, pat his mother on her head, punched his father in the arm, grabbed a towel out of the cabinet and proceeded to strip and take a shower. When I was done, as I took my sweet time, I grabbed the clothes that Mrs. Woods had set out, which consisted of my usual outfit, a cartoon embolized t-shirt and some black skinny jeans. I smelled nicely of aftershave and after pulling on my ratty vans. I grabbed my backpack and walked out the door to where my best friend was tapping his foot impatiently. "What the fuck is wrong with you Bail? How did you manage to draw out a quick shower to a seventeen-minute shower?" I laughed at his indignant question and shrugged, once we reached, which was about a ten-minute walk from his house, the questions that had been eating at me since last night finally bubbled over.

"Where is this dragon and when can I meet him?" He laughed at me. "First off, the dragon is a she and it looks as though she's headed this way, ah shit, Bail we got to go now." His once playful expression was now serious with just a hint of fear. "What, no, why?" "Can you ever just listen to me without questioning my every word?" I grinned at him, "Nope", I said popping the p. I turned around to face the dragon for the first time. When I locked eyes with her, it felt as though time itself had stopped. She was easily the most absolute gorgeous creature that I had ever had the pleasure of looking upon. I greedily drank in all of her features, from her long black hair to her startling and haunting emerald green eyes, it looked as though God himself had crafted her and placed the finest emeralds ever found in her eyes, then as though as if that wasn't enough, he decided to add some high cheekbones, full lips, long eyelashes, and a tall, lean, curvy figure. She looked as though she belonged on the cover of one of those magazines, hell, she put even the most stunning models to shame. I had never been so resentful of my five feet ten inches than I was in this instant, she was about the same height as me, if so an inch taller. She was dressed similarly to me, with her vans and her skinny jeans, but she had on a boxy-button up t-shirt. It wasn't until she stopped directly in front of me, that I could determine that she was in fact the exact same height as me. Those glittering green orbs seemed to soften a little at the sight of me before they began to turn a beautifully horrifying black.

Then in a voice so deep that it couldn't possibly belong to the beauty in front of me, she growled out one word that would forever change my life. "Mine."
