Ling's corner: This is an important announcement. I changed the age difference between Joseph Lingering, Josh Jordan and Liam Lingering to 3 instead of 5. I realised the age gap of 5 may be a bit too wide for the story to progress. I already have a sick feeling that this story may be longer than I want it to be (I'm never complaining about author's writing too long a story!). I'm pretty sure no one wants to wait forever for Liam and Josh to get together. So yeah, thank you for reading and bye~

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, if you are wondering what the shit happened in the previous chapter... Congratulations, you are feeling the right emotion! If not, go kick yourself in the ass and come back later! (Ling: I don't think it's appropriate to threaten the readers like that. Liam: (holding spear) Sorry, what? Ling: Nothing! Please explain!! I'm so anxious to know what happened!!! [It's not easy to be an author. Let alone one with a crazy main character])

Alright, before Josh Jordan's arrival, I would have a week to plot the ultimate plan to prevent my death, get back at Joseph Lingering and obtain the ultimate prize to get back to reality (or so I hope). The first agenda is to prevent my death. In order to prevent my death, I have to prevent Josh Jordan from killing me. In order to prevent Josh Jordan from killing me, I have to prevent him from thinking that I am a villain. In order to prevent him from thinking that I am a villain, I need to set a harmless impression (Ling: ...and there I was thinking you're gonna continue with the same sentence structure). It would be even better if he could think of me as the victim. With my geniusness, I was certain to have the ultimate plan before the end of the first day (Ling: (trying to hold back laughter but failing so hard) Bwahahaha, yea right, geniusness. Liam: What?!) I had the perfect plan to play for three days and start working on the fourth. I could wait for the last day of the week but I am a responsible, sensible person (Ling: (opened mouth) Liam: NO TALKING! Ling: (doing the zipping mouth sign but still smirking)) and know there is no good with doing last-minute work......

BUT WHY, LISA, WHY?? Why do you have to be so heartless? Why do you have to tell me that it is tradition for the children of the current master of the Lingering family to perform at every annual D&D after the age of 15 (the legal age in "Darkness in Light")? Why do you have to tell me that the first performance is also a coming-of-age ceremony for the Lingering family. Why does Stephen Lingering (decided not to call him father unless necessary) has to be such a tradition freak that he is allowing Liam Lingering to perform for this one time. Why do you have to tell me that it is also tradition for the older son to judge the first performance of the next coming-of-age younger son one week before the event? This would mean that Joseph Lingering (4th son) is going to judge my (5th son, coming-of-age) performance. Why does Liam Lingering have to be have his 15th birthday two months ago? Seriously, Lingering is one of richest family and they can't even afford proper entertainment?? What is wrong with them?

Apparently, I aka the actual (and died) Liam Lingering had been practicing for the performance for half a year (Liam: Feel the desperation for approval. Ling: You're just grumpy because you don't get to play anymore). After the pond accident, Lisa was too engrossed in nursing me back to health that she forgot about the upcoming D&D. She eventually remembers when a kitchen maid asked her for help. There goes my awesome schedule (Ling: (raising a finger) Liam: STILL NO TALKING Ling: (lowers finger)) and the start of Hell's Dancefloor. I have to give a thumbs-up to the decreased Liam Lingering for his seriousness towards the upcoming performance. He had been practising for four hours every day for six months and had Lisa recording every session. I guess anyone would put in their 100% for their first and last performance in public. Not to mention that it is also his coming-of-age ceremony.

~ Liam's "Darkness of Light" Explanation Time ~
Ladies and Gentlemen! It is time for Liam's "Darkness of Light" Explanation Time again. (Ling: Isn't this the first time?) I realised that although similar, there are some huge differences between our world and the world in "Darkness in Light". Therefore I have decided to sacrifice my leisure time (Ling: ....) to conduct "Darkness in Light" Explanation Time to explain the unknown facts of "Darkness in Light". Now, let's begin! With the special system in the brain, everyone in "Darkness in Light" can record memories when desired. However, as per everything else, recording takes energy. Nobody would adore the idea of fainting in the middle of the street after a day of recording. There are professional Recorders trained to focus their energy on recording. They can record up to two days without rest. They worked under the direct orders of their council. They are hired for important events held by the government and royalties. Alright, that's it! Wait, you're asking about the storage? I'm glad you ask! (Ling: It's official. Delusions and hallucinations. (Lighting a candle) I'm sorry you have to go like this, Liam. I will always remember you as the crazy one. Liam: Wait, I'm not died! Hey, don't ignore me!) Regarding the storage problem, your brain is the best tool in the world! Of cos it will be the best in storage capacity too! The system allows the brain to be fully utilised. This means not only can we record and store but also retrieve memories as much as we want (with energy level in mind). In conclusion, (Ling: Finally an end to this boring lecture) the system allows its user to make actual recordings of memory that are then stored in the brain's endless storage space. These recordings can be retrieved at will for watching or sharing among friends! Well, that concludes our time. Thank you for tuning in to "Darkness in Light" Explanation Time! I'll see you soon~ (Ling: (in agony) Noo...)
