"he said he was building something," eleven started as sophia brought her  a warm glass of milk, in which she hesitantly accepted. "that it was all for me." she took a sip as she looked at max, who seemed to be trying to put the pieces all together. "building something... is he talking about the flayed?" she asked softly. "he must be." nancy said, throwing her hand that was resting on her temple. "so, he's building an army just like we thought." lucas said as he paced back and forth. "yeah, but he's not building this army to spread." mike started while sophia hugged herself, rubbing her arms gently. "he's building it to stop eleven," will put in as jonathan and nancy looked at him. "last year, el closed the gate on him. i have a feeling that really pissed him off." mike continued, causing lucas to nod in agreement. "like, royally." "and the mind flayer now knows that she's the only thing that can stop him. but if she's out if the way--" "game over." sophia said softly as mike put a comforting hand on her back. "he also said he was going to kill all of you... especially sophia." a sharp inhale was heard from sophia as the others looked at her, now scared for sophia's and their own lives. "yeah, well, that's nice." max scoffed as they suddenly heard faint screeching noises from outside, with nancy walking towards the window as the noise became louder. "do you guys hear that?" she shuddered as sophia stood up, clinging onto mike with fear. "it's just the fireworks," jonathan claimed as nancy spoke up again. "billy..." she turned towards eleven quickly. "when he told you this, it was here, in this room?" eleven nodded lightly, and thudding noises were heard on top of the roof. sophia clung tighter onto mike as she looked at will, who put a hand on his neck. "he knows that we're here," he stated. everyone ran outside quickly as they saw the trees rustling. sophia's breathing quickened as she spotted the one thing she didn't want to; the mind flayer.

everyone was boarding up eleven's house; they did all that they could so they could try and stop the mind flayer. jonathan and nancy both came back inside with weapons as they started to help board the house. sophia ran and shut the door, with everyone else started to block the windows and the doors. "get away from the window," nancy stated as she grabbed her shotgun. everyone huddled together, back to back as they waited silently for something-- anything-- to happen. suddenly, they watched as everything started to shake. sophia's breathing quickened as she heard will mumble, "it's close." she heard leaves rustling and felt her body starting to tremble. she listened as branches started to snap outside and things well inside before everything suddenlt became still.

"where'd it go?" she heard max asked. everyone looked around for a few moments before the mind flayer broke one of it's arms into the house, shrieking as the everyone gasped and screamed, scurrying away from it as it's arm started to move towards eleven, in which jonathan had started using his axe to try and chop it off. he tried a few times, yelling before it threw him across the room. before it gould get to jonathan, nancy started to shoot at it. it shrieked and wailed everytime, until the gun ran out of ammo. she backed away from it, and as soon as it tried to get her, it stopped in mid-air, wailing in pain. sophia looked at eleven, who was using her powers until she cut of it's front half. the creature's arm retreated, and sophia was shaking all over. "holy shit," max said before two other arms started making it's way towards eleven, causing her to use both of her arms and yell as she tore off their front ends, making them retreat again. sophia made her way towards her, trying to make sure she was okay until suddenly, the mind flayer grabbed sophia's leg. "SOPHI!!" mike yelled as the female screamed through tears, causing eleven and mike to both grab her arm. jonathan grabbed her other arm and so did everyone else-- except lucas, who was in the corner-- all trying to pull, attempting to get her out of the mind flayer's grasp. mike was yelling for everyone to pull her as nancy loaded the gun. "NANCY SHOOT IT!" jonathan yelled as sophia couldn't stop screaming, tears flying everywhere as nancy started to shoot again. the mind flayer shrieked, continuing to pull sophia in. "come on! lucas!" max shrieked as lucas suddenly started to yell, grabbing jonathan's axe as he started to chop off the mind flayer's arm repeatedly. the kids were straining to pull sophia, who was still screaming before lucas finally managed to cut it's arm off, making everyone fall back as sophia landed on mike's chest. "sophi! sophi, are you okay?" he asked in a panicked state. the female barely responded as mike noticed the mind-flayers head-thing still biting her leg before he ripped it off, causing her to scream in pain. el looked up at the mind flayer, anger surging through as she put her arms up, stopping the mind flayer from even coming inside as she then started to yell, ripping it's head apart before stumbling backwards. she looking down at sophia who was crying hard, terrified and in pain as mike tried to sooth her, wiping away her tears and picking her up as nancy and jonathan had started rushing the kids out. "GO! GO! GO!" "COME ON, COME ON, GO!" nancy grabbed her gun as tried to get the kids out. "GO!" she yelled. jonathan had been trying to unlock the door for a moment before finally opening it. "HURRY UP, COME ON! mike was trying to get past them, holding the female tight in his arms. "EVERYBODY OUT!" he screamed as sophia cried into his chest, holding onto him tightly as they ran outside and towards the car. everyone kept screaming for each other to go before they got inside the car, with mike and sophia in the back and everyone else in the front. "DRIVE!" mike yelled as nancy immediately started to drive as the mind flayer continued to destroy eleven and hopper's house.
