It's the day of the prom and you were sitting at home, bored out of your mind; staring up at your beautiful dress that your parents had bought for you months before. You sigh; putting it away in your wardrobe and walking into the kitchen; making yourself a cup of tea before settling down on the sofa for a night of movies.
Your phone buzzes to life as you get a text from your best friend.
'Hey babe! Are you sure you're not coming tonight? We'll all miss you so much! Please come? x'
'Hey :) No, I'm gonna stay at home. I hope you have an amazing time! x'
You sigh, wishing that you could go but you didn't want to go without a date. You waited 3 months to be asked to go to prom but no one did.
You get another text from your closest friend; Liam.
'(Y/n)! I really want you to come tonight. It really won't be the same without you! We'll have such a laugh together.'
'It's fine Liam! You go have fun with Danielle. I promise I'm okay.'
A tear slips from your eye; your chest hurting from the want. You wanted to go because you had dreamt about prom night since you were little and when it finally comes to it; you don't go. You wipe away your tears and turn up the TV; pulling the duvet over you.
In the middle of the second movie, you hear a knock at the door. You frown; wondering who it could be. As you open the door; your eyes meet with a very handsome boy in a tuxedo stood smiling sweetly at you.
'Louis? What are you doing here?' You say.
'Well, I saw your light on and wondered why you weren't at prom already. How come you're not dressed?' Louis asks, glancing down at your silk pyjamas.
'I'm not going to prom, Louis.' You say bluntly.
'But why?' He asks.
'Because no one has asked me to go. I'm not going without a date because I'll look stupid while everyone else dances away with their date.'
'Oh, I don't know why anyone hasn't asked you.' Louis says, making you blush.
Louis was a childhood friend who you'd grown apart from throughout high school. He became really popular and you just didn't fall into that category.
'Are you going to let me in?' Louis says smiling; flashing his gorgeous white teeth at you, making your breath hitch.
'You're going to be late!' You argue.
'I'm not going to the prom.' Louis says; walking past you. You inhale deeply as you notice his cologne. He smelt heavenly!
'But Louis. Why?' You ask.
'Because I'm not going to leave you alone.' He says.
You stare at him in shock. Was he serious? And why the hell was he doing this for you? You watch as Louis takes a seat on the sofa and you join him shortly after making him a cup of tea.
Louis sighs as you both watch the movie on the screen and you stare intently at him. You wondered what he was thinking. He really was beautiful; his high cheekbones, defined jaw line and beautiful blue eyes that you found yourself staring into on more than one occasion. Louis nudges you; making you blush because he caught you staring.
He looks at you adorable; smiling as he scrunches his nose up.
'Why did we stop being friends?' You ask.
'We never stopped (y/n); I still love you a lot. I miss being with you all the time. I'm sorry.' He whispers as he pushes a strand of your hair behind your ear.
