My stomach flipped as I followed my escort into the stadium, doing all that I could not lose him in the twisting turning black hallways. I was in the same building as BTS! It almost felt too good to be true! I guess being friends with one of them has its perks. Biting my lower lip, I took in my surroundings, the reflective black tiles underfoot, the cords taped to the walls. Many people rushed past us, carrying brand name clothes, some sparkling with rhinestones.
My eyes followed the fashion designers as they turned left entering a chaotic hall with backstage workers pushing through with coiled wires, some holding water bottles, and stage headset mics. I held my breath as I caught sight of the famous RM as he walked out of the warm-up room, grabbing labeled water before gulping down the clear, refreshing liquid. I wanted to run and introduce myself to the leader of my favorite band but barely held myself in place.
My fangirl insides jolted when he briefly looked my way before nodding his head with a dimpled smile. I bowed back, heart pounding. When I was brave enough to look back up, he was already going back into the room that I was 99% sure had the rest of the band members inside. Heaving a breath to calm my skipping heart, I turned around to continue following the escort... Only, he was no longer there. Panic clawed at my throat as I did a 360, but came up short. We were headed down this hall, so if I keep following it, I'll either run into him, or he'll turn back to find me if he noticed I was no longer following behind him...
I walked quickly in the direction I had last seen him headed. The further down the hall I went, the more it became evident to me that I was headed in the wrong direction. I had been going straight for a good five minutes before I decided to take a left, but found it to be just as misleading. I turned back to retrace my steps, only to realise, with a pit of despair weighing in my stomach, that I no longer knew where I was...
Groaning, I cursed myself for not staying put like any other lost child should. This place was a black maze, and I knew that if I wasn't found soon, I'd miss the concert, and my chance to meet Min Yoongi in person. I bit my lip to stop myself from crying as tears began to mist over my vision. I hugged myself as I contemplated on how to get myself found, but just like I had wandered around, my ideas also ended with no result. I couldn't text or call Jungkook without distracting him before his performance, and honestly, that was probably my only option aside from screaming and hoping someone hears me...
Suddenly, the hallway was filled with the sound of distant music, echoing between the endless walls and into my ears. I blinked in bewilderment for a few moments before I realized that this music was "Jump," coming from the stage. I looked down both ways of the hallway, sprinting off in the direction where the music was the strongest. The voices of BTS were raised in unison, unknowingly to them, guiding me through the black maze. I was running so fast that I nearly tripped over myself a few times, barely managing to catch myself.
My heart pounded as I reached a fork in the hallway, a path to each of my sides and one before me. I breathed heavily, hesitantly walking to one then the next, listening intently only to discover that the song had ended and a deafening roar of applause replaced it.
"Which way now?" I whispered under a pant, eyes looking to each direction.
Agonizing moments dragged by as I squeeze my fingers in an attempt to keep myself calm. Just as I was getting ready to take the hall to my right, I heard it... The growing volume of a well known song. Cypher part 4. I made a full turn, racing down the path that had been to my left, moving so quickly that my (h/c) hair jumped and swayed behind me. I soon came to a stop at the end of a hall where a door was the only thing standing between me and the concert beyond it.
My hand shook a little as I reached for it, pulling it open and stepping inside. Everything around me was black like the hallways, only now there were no lights to show where I was going. Colored lights flashed through the heavy curtains that separated the stage from backstage, the screams of the fans no match for the volume of the rapping that was taking place in this very moment. I looked about, wondering where I should place myself to ensure that I could see the stage, but also be out of the crews way...
A hand reached out to me, grabbing my shoulder as I shuffled awkwardly too and fro. I whipped around to be greeted by a large smile. Jungkook stood before me, his skin coated in sweat, a mic headset draped over his neck. He was still breathing heavily from the song he had just performed, but even though he was tired, he still looked very happy and excited to see me there. I smiled back, realizing that I had never seen him at work. At least not in person.
"You made it! I was worried when your escort showed up without you." He giggled, pushing his sweat wet bangs away from his forehead "I'm not surprised that you got lost, but I'm so glad you found your way. The concert will be over after a few more songs."
I nodded, grateful that he had invited me "Thanks, you look like you're having a blast."
"I am! This is my life, and I enjoy it!" His smile was so full of joy and love that I couldn't help smiling in return.
"Jeon Jungkook!" a crew member came running up to him, carrying a towel and comb to fix his mussed dark hair "Come this way, you're back on in one minute."
Jungkook nodded in understanding, giving my shoulder a squeeze before he followed the crew member off in an unknown direction. He glance back at me briefly before pointing in a direction. I followed the line of his finger and realized that he was pointing at the escort that I had lost on my way here. I obediently jogged over to the man, bowing a quick apology before he directed me over to the side of the curtains where I would have a perfect view of the stage.
The stage had grown dark as Cypher had just ended and the preparations for the next song were in progress. The lights in the crowd were so many and so bright, that it looked like stars lighting up the entire stadium. Only moments passed before the stage lit up in flashing lights of many colors to the beat of one of my favorite songs: "Go go." The black silhouettes of BTS showing up on the backdrop before the lights of the stage were officially turned on, revealing the already dancing members. My eyes instantly flew to Suga, my heart skipping a beat as my breathing stopped.
His face was serious as ever as he waited his turn to start his rap, dancing fluidly with the other members. I couldn't take my eyes off of him, and the moment he began to rap was the moment I felt like I could fly. He was full of so much life, so much energy, no longer the sleepy, lazy member that I had thought to be his custom. It was so different from watching him on my phone and computer, and I almost died as I remembered that I would actually have the chance to meet him in person. All too soon, or not soon enough, the song began to reach the end.
My pounding heart was the only sound I could pick out from the screaming of the ARMY as the final chord of music died off. The seconds seemed to drag only to suddenly leap forward. The backstage staff ran about in the dark, guided by their small, handheld, flashlights. Several dancers came down a flight of stairs from the stage, soon followed by the legendary seven members of BTS.
Though they were all sweating and gasping for air, they still smiled brightly clapping one another on the back as they made a beeline to a table. The table was littered with refreshments and bottles of water that were snatched and distributed among the exhausted members. I felt like an on looker as everything on the table was devoured by the idols I adored. Little did I know, curious eyes were upon me.
I wanted to step forward and greet each and everyone of them, however, my feet were heavy, as if they were stuck in cement. My heart leapt in my throat as one of them detached themselves from the table and walked straight towards me. To my own distress, it was too dark to make out who it was. My heart was going wild as I tried to catch my breath, but it was no use, my hands were shaking so badly that I had to clench them in front of my chest. The man tilted his head, light catching on his flawless black hair as he walked straight for me.
He stopped right in front of me, so close that the the scent of Paco Rabanne filled my lungs with every breath I was able to take. His dark eyes locked with mine, shining dimly as he stared at me. He opened his mouth, his perfect lips forming words that I couldn't hear. I looked at him in confusion and he smiled a little before repeating.
"Who are you?" his gruff yet gently spoken voice, the voice I had listened to almost every second of the day, but never heard in person filled my ears, sending my heart on a marathon.
I blinked at him a few times, opening and closing my mouth as I searched for the right words. "I... I'm (Y/n)." My voice was no stronger than a whisper and I cursed myself.
I couldn't think, I could barely breathe, and my pulse was hammering through my veins as I tried to function. He was standing right here, right in front of me, only a few inches separating us from touching. Min Yoongi.
