*Mia's POV*

I woke up with stinging arms and a dull ache in my abdomen. The blood had seeped through the bandages. Exhaustion plagued me and all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and sleep for eternity. I looked out of the window towards the far end of the driveway where leaves were gracefully floating about.

I followed my monotonous routine with a slight change, the bandages. Honestly I was scared that the cut was going to start bleeding again so I wore a black hoodie and carried extra dressing for the cut in my bag. I neatened my room and went downstairs cautiously, there was no sound besides the odd snored that escaped Luke's mouth from time to time. Mum had left already and I'm sure that she won't be back for a few days. After finishing up a mug of strong coffee I left the house with minimum noise.

The walk to school was calming and gave me a sense of freedom which I didn't quite possess. I loved being outside, surrounded by nature because it gave me a feeling I couldn't quite describe. I've always wanted a camera to capture these beautiful things and savour them for as long as I could, photography was one of my major interests. I was in the school photography club for two years and this would have been my third if I didn't have to focus on my weaker subjects and drop the ones that "served no purpose".

There it is, my beautiful school. I went to my locker to leave behind the books I didn't need as yet and to my dismay I noticed someone digging around in the locker next to mine. Dear lord curiosity is definitely going to be the death of me one day. I ignored the person next to me and flashed a timid freshman that walked pass me a warm smile, the poor thing looked like she needed it.

Ahh shit, History. I didn't hate the subject but I didn't necessarily like it either.

Mr Jorge went on and on about some nonsense, I did not register a single word he uttered. Exhaustion plagued over me from last night's events so I rested my head on the desk, just rested.

"Miss Jones do we have a problem, is my lesson boring?"

I reluctantly lifted by head off the desk and supressed a groan that threatened to escape.

"Nope, sorry sir."

"Please pay attention."

"Yes sir."

"Now let's carry on with our topic... ". I have no clue what he said next because it was getting difficult to focus with my throbbing side. My focus was then diverted to the window and I watched the graceful dancing of the leaves. Class was soon over and the next two periods passed by in a daze. It was finally lunch and the thought of that brought a tiny smile to break out on my face.

I was on my way to canteen when suddenly someone slammed into me, fucking hell. That slight action caused a jolt of pain to run through my abdomen. I was so focused on the pain that I didn't realise that I had been knocked onto the floor.

"Geez what's up with people and bumping into me.", the blind old man grumbled.

Once I looked up it was non other than Noah Collins, a sense of relief washed over me. Wait why did a sense of relief just wash over me?

"Oh I'm sorry, I probably wasn't watching where I was going.", I tried to smile at him to show that I'm okay but instead it looked like a grimace.

His warm gaze and carefree personality from yesterday was replaced by a stone cold one, it sent involuntary shivers down my back.

"Oh it's you", he said with the flattest voice humanly possible.

"No a pterodactyl."

Give me crap energy and get crap energy back.

His expression was the same or rather the lack thereof. Without another word he grabbed onto my arm to pull me up and thanks to my excellent luck he had to grab onto my cuts from yesterday.

GREAT. JUST FREAKING GREAT.

I tried to keep a smile on my face but failed miserably, I needed to get away from him as fast as I can. The thought of lunch and hunger was long forgotten as I rushed over to the main doors of the school. There were numerous students scattered all around the grassy area and I needed to get as far away as possible. From each and every one of them.

The back of the school was the only place where no one would bother me because everyone there was either higher than a kite or indulging in an extremely heavy make out session.

I just sat against a tree and tried to calm down my ragging heart. The experience was a highly terrifying one, not the Luke kind but terrifying none the less.
