Part Eleven- Heart Eyes

Cheryl's POV

Wednesday, October 11th 2017

As soon as Kevin called me, I knew this was my chance to talk to someone who isn't closely involved. I think Betty is also starting to catch on too, however she's not said anything about it to me.

Jason dropped me off outside of Kevin's and I made my way to the front door, I'd barely just knocked on the door and at the speed of light it flew open. "Come in." He said, gesturing me inside. We made our way upstairs to his room, where Betty was also sat on the bed. "Your mom let you go to a sleepover on a school night Betts?" I laughed at her. "Yeah I told her that you were going and she let me." She laughed.

"So I need to talk to you guys about something but promise me you won't tell anyone else?" I pouted towards the pair of them, sitting on top of Kevin's bed. They looked at each other and nodded. "Uh you know T-toni." I stuttered out, if the room wasn't dead silent then they wouldn't have even been able to hear me say it. "Well I've been tutoring her for history and we've become really close and I think I like her. As in... like like her." I continued, with my head down, playing with my hands.

They were both silent, probably in disbelief of what I've just told them, so I looked up towards them. Kevin looked like he was about to burst before he squealed and starting throwing himself around. "Yes yes yes yes oh my god CHONI!" He shouted, way too loud for my ear drums. Betty began to dance around like an idiot shouting "I knew it!"

"She doesn't like me back obviously, but I wanted to tell you so I could get advice on how to get over her." I blurted out to calm their excitement. "What? NO! Cheryl you are so blind to everything! Of course she likes you." Betty said, shaking her head. I slowly lifted my head to look at her.

"Betty's right Cher, she obviously likes you. You need to tell her." Kevin tried to encourage me. "Kev I can't... I just made a new friend, I can't ruin it by telling her." I assured him. "We're going to help, and we'll prove to you that she likes you too!" He said happily.

Thursday, October 12th 2017

I decided to sit with Betty in the Blue and Gold office once again, Jason had an 'emergency' football meeting tonight so I stayed behind again. This time was different to all of the rest though, rather than sitting at the desk in the corner to focus on some extra work: I sat staring at Toni Topaz, the girl of my dreams, the whole time. She's now the new photographer for the Blue and Gold so she's in here editing away at some shots of the cheerleaders while I sit here and hopelessly pine over her.

I was oblivious to the rest of my surroundings, not paying any attention to Betty and Jughead who were also in the room. Well, that was until I got a text from Betty.

Betty💞: stop staring at her😉

Cher💕: i am so not!!!

Betty💞: liar. you haven't taken your eyes off of her for the past 30 minutes.

Cher💕: she hasn't noticed right?

Betty💞: i don't think so, she only looked up once or twice.

Cher💕: god betty what am i supposed to do?! i can't just stare at her she's going to notice but i can't help myself😩

Betty💞: i'll tell you to come and look at something on my computer, just pretend you're interested in it okay?

Cher💕: sure?

I looked up from my phone when Betty spoke up. "Hey Cheryl look at this." She beckoned me over to the seat next to her at her desk. God that was so obvious, it's a good job she doesn't want to be an actress because she'd be awful.

I shook my head and made my way to sit next to her, staring at the article she was writing for this weeks paper. I just focused on that and read over it a few times. Luckily, her monitor was too big so I couldn't see over it to look at Toni any longer.

Moments after, Jason opened the door. He was followed by a few of the football players, including Archie of course, and Veronica since she's always with him. "Cherylllllll." I nodded for him to continue. "Pretty pretty pretty please can I have a party this weekend? Mom's going with dad on a business trip and they said it would be okay." He begged me. I didn't want to just nod at him because he'll think I don't want him to, but I was scared to say anything since there were so many people with him. I braved it anyway. "Jason i-if they s-s-said you can then d-do it. I'm not y-your parent, of cour-course you can." Brilliant, I managed to stutter even more than I would've. Executed perfectly once again Cheryl. Idiot.

He gave me a massive smile and came over to hug me. "Thank you Cher, I just need to speak to the rest of the team then I'll come back so we can go home okay?" He said, not letting go of me. I nodded against his shoulder and he released me, walking towards the door. "Oh by the way, Betty you're coming whether you like it or not." She nodded, "fine" she dramatically gasped out. Jughead looked over at her, laughing. "Toni and Jug, you can invite all of your serpent friends too. I'll see you all on Saturday." He said before opening the door.

"W-wait!" I blurted out. I don't know where this confidence came from but I instantly regretted it. They all turned around to look at me. "Vero-veronica can I um s-speak to y-you... outside? A-alone." I asked her. She nodded and made her way out of the door, I stood up and followed them out. Jason and the rest of the football players went towards the changing rooms, leaving me and Veronica alone.
