Chapter 3: The Knights of Rhea

Byleth's POV

When I heard a voice that called my father, he tense and turned his head slowly to see who called him, I, too, look for the source of that sound and see a man in full armor, walking towards us, "It has been quite awhile since I last saw you, Captain!" he exclaim, quite enthuciasticly to my father, 'Do they know each other?' I thought in confusion, "Ah, Louise, Its just you" father said in a monotone voice, 'So his name is Louise, wait, did he said captain?' I thought as I recall the man in full armor, Louise calling my father captain.

"Ah! And this must be your child, huh?" Louise said, finally noticing my presence, as he said that, I answered honestly and formally, "Yes, I'm his daughter, Byleth. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir Louise" and bowed with one hand on my chest and the other on my back. "Ah! What a lovely lady, with good manners and skills. Herald you raised your kid quite well, I'm impress." Louise said joyfully to my father, though my father only saw that as an insult, thinking that his friend didn't think he could raise a child on his own. "Its not like I can't raised my own child, Louise, don't underestimate your allies with such task as the Captain of the Knights of Rhea." as my father said that, I accidently blurt out "Knights of Rhea?"

My father turn his head to me, "Ah, that's right. I didn't told ya, that I was once a knight" I nodded my head, I never had to question my father on why he was a mercenary in the first place or where did he learn to fight or who my mother is, even if I try, he won't give me a clear answer to my question, so I leave that to my father to tell me when it's the right time.
He then explain that he went to an academy to study as a knight, the academy he was studying was called The Shepherds Academy, Louise said to us that the three student that we meet were attending the Shepherds Academy and was having a training exercise, and after that, father continued to explain that he was one of the best knights in the shepherds academy and was now promoted as a knight and a captain to his unit, but he was not alone, as he is the captain and general of the knights of Rhea, he had a companion, a chief tactician, just like me, he told me that, that person can used both magic and swords. That was a surprised as I never thought that someone like that can do both kind of offence and defence in a battle field, let alone a tactician, fighting along side of father.

After that Louise said that he will talk to the villagers and his comrades, my father join him as he has something to discussed about,but before he left, turn to me and said "Why don't you talk with the three students over their, I'm sure they're curious about me and you being my daughter" I nod and give my father a quick small smile then walk off to talk to them as they seem to peek my interest.

As I walk to them, they notice my presence and turn to me and started to bring the conversation that they seem to talk about while I was with my father and Louise, "Never would O thought that I would see a former captain of the knights of Rhea, and simply seeing his own flesh and blood, battle beside him, quite impressive" Evangeline said with such curiosity and interest to find such mystery in front of her eyes, the Robin started to asked "You are his child, right? The daughter of Herald, the Blade Breaker? I have always wondered what he looks like and if he had a child or a family of his own, well this night surely changes everything." "I agree with Evangeline and Robin here, your father was like, a legend back at the academy, some lectures were also from what your father had done in the past, I was also curious to what he was doing now, well I'm mostly glad that those bandits found us, if it weren't for them, we would never have a chance to fight along side with the famous Blade Breaker" Cloud agreed, thinking as if it was fate that brought these three to the primrose village, both Evangeline and Robin nod their heads in agreement, we talk for awhile when the topic reaches to which state I wish to work or live in.
"Why don't you come with me back at Lolorian empire, We need strong and reliable ally in my home to protect my people with, I'm sure you'll love-"
Evangeline started until she was cut of by Robin "Hold on Evangeline, we haven't even told her anything about our respective states, such as the Holy kingdom of Everrest, and the Plegian Alliance. It's not just the Lolorian empire that would want her strength, intelligence, and her skills." he stated to Evangeline, as if scolding her ignorance to other states of Havean. When she realized her mistake, she immediately apolegize her mistake "Oh, no its alright, we all make mistakes from time to time." I reassured her to make herself more relaxed in a way, then Cloud then said
"Well, even if we're to explain it, I'm pretty sure she knows each of those states,I mean what, she and her dad are both mercenaries, they travel a lot of places so I'm sure she can understand what we're talking about, right?" he ended with a wink, being sure he was just being friendly and what he said was true, me and father always go to places to work in, like the Lolorian empire, Kingdom of Everrest, and the Plegian Alliance. I nod my head saying he is correct, though even when I knew each of their states, there's one country that I like the most but I won't mention it as I only thought it as a fairytale,"By the way, we never get the chance to asked but what's your name?" Cloud asked as both Evangeline and Robin lean a little bit, being curious, I answered "My name is Byleth, Byleth Nightwing, it is the pleasure to meet you three" I bowed and raise my head as I look at the trio, they then introduce themselves even though I already know their names "As you may already know, I'm Cloud, nice to meet you as well." "Well I guess I'll go next, I am Robinhood, but my friends call me Robin." "And I'm Evangeline, the pleasure is ours, Byleth" I nodded at the three but as I was about to say something, Father came to us as to tell us that we will have to leave to the monastery, the three students left leaving me and my father behind, during that time my father asked if there's something wrong "No, father nothing's wrong, it's just, I feel like the name heard earlier sounds familiar to me" "Really? Is it in one of your dreams you heard of the name?" father asked and I nod my head saying that I heard her name but it felt more familiar to me than it is as a simple name, but we didn't mind it and left with the others.

Little did the two know, that when the three students left, one of them heard a bit of their conversation and that it made that person subconciously smirk as its conversation peek its curiosity, "Hey, are you coming with us? We're about to leave" "Coming!" that person replied and ran up to the others as that person thought something in their mind 'That Byleth girl, she's quite Interesting.'
