AU Idea:
What if instead of all of the countries killing the earth because of pollution and such. Earth just had a random disease that wasn't contagious but would slowly kill them over time. So Earth made up these countries, and uses them as dolls or puppets. Making up all of the history for them like it's a game. Mainly so they can have someone to blame for their dying.
