On the bus – La Mawo Road!
"Hey, you okay?" my best friend asked me after a nearly entire road trip silence.
"Yeah Sophie, am okay! It's just my parents... they sometimes make me feel like I should always be living under someone's shadow, not going for what matters to me. Just what matters to them!" I replied.
"I know how that feels Meg, trust me. But we're right now having a month away from our messed up life with our parents ahead of us! So, you don't need to give yourself all that tension, take it easy, shoulders up, and get ready to hit the fun for the rest of the month..."
"I love you, Sophie. And I think you're the last human I'll ever love... no boys for me, just I and my best friend, that's all I need!"
"Yeah, I know. I love you too Meg! But trust me, I hate breaking it up to you, but Nah... you need a man to keep you up with the rest of the world. You're like left behind miles away, just because you're scared of dating!"
"What! No, I'm not scared of dating. I can date, but right now, it's not the right time."
"When will the right time be?"
"Yeah Meg, when?" Rafael interrupted from a front seat, he turned his head aside trying to wait for my response.
"Seriously Rafael, keep your ears to yourself!" Sophie said to him.
"Come on Sophie, Meg has to tell us when she'll be ready to date. What if I'm in the queue of the boys wishing to date her?"
"Yeah right, here comes the jokes!" I spoke.
"That's what you always think. And it's costing you and your relationship status in your life!" Rafael said and turned his head back in front.
"You need to change Meg, trust me," Sophie concluded.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to La Mawo town..." the driver announced via the bus microphone.
La Mawo Beach Resort - Evening!
We arrived at the town that we were all anxious to see, the buses drove us to the famous town's beach resort, and surprisingly enough... it was the place we were staying for the rest of the month. And yes, it was a shocking detail to us!
Everyone got assigned to their rooms, and it was only three of us who weren't yet assigned to our rooms. Three of us, meaning me, Sophie and Charlotte, my worst nightmare. And the room assigning guy came to us and gave us breathtaking news...
"Ladies, we are so sorry. But we're only left with one room and the three of you!"
"What do you mean?" Charlotte asked.
"I mean, each room was taking only two of you on your stay here. But in this case, the room left has to be for all of you girls."
"All of us!? You mean I'll have to sleep in the same room with Meg the failure?" Charlotte yelled.
"Am sorry, who's Meg the failure?" the room assigning guy asked.
"It's me. She's talking about me, and don't listen to her... she's having a bad day!" I replied.
"I'm not having a bad day Meg, I am pissed to know that I'll be in the same room with you, plus Sophie, your lame failure assistant!"
"Excuse me, what did you just say?" Sophie said with a pissed face.
"You heard me!" Charlotte replied confidently.
"Guys, what's done is done. Let's get to our room, only three of us, it's going to be the best month ever..." I smiled while grabbing the keys from the room assigning guy and walking away.
"You're lucky, I'm in no shape of disappointing my best friend, who happens to be your sister..." Sophie said to Charlotte and began following me.
"Are you sure there is no other way? Maybe you should just place me in some other room, different from this one!" Charlotte asked the guy.
"Am sorry miss, but there's no other way!"
"Come on Charlotte, it's going to be fun... ride along!" I yelled at her.
"Ooh shut up!" she yelled back.
Next Day, La Mawo Beach Resort – Room 254!
On the next morning, it was all a lazy morning... we all had agreed to have a party today and so everyone was trying to extend their sleep to be extra active at night in the party. The party was themed, towards freedom, as we thought spending a month away from our normal boring lives was an amazing thing ever!
Sophie woke me up, I didn't wish to open up my eyes but as how it seemed right, it was like Sophie had already woken up early before and she was up to her own kinds of stuff.
"Hey, get up!" Sophie insisted.
"Come on Sophie, why should I wake up at this hour? It's too early!" I asked.
"Charlotte left a note, she left for the mall..."
"Good. I thought she chocked on her own ego while sleeping!"
"Do you guys hate each other that much?"
"I was born a few minutes after her, I don't think I can hate her that easily. But on her side, she had always wished to be the only girl of the family, she always says I came to ruin and take her title in the world!" I was still talking with my head under a blanket.
"What!"
"Yeah, I know... she sounds awful!"
"No... I mean the news." Sophie sounded shocked.
"You watch the news these days? Who are you, what've you done with my friend?"
"The town mall was just under attack, it seemed like the attackers had started the fire, and right now the firefighters are on the way to stop the fire from affecting the people inside..." I heard the reporter from the news under the blanket.
"What!" I threw the blanket away as I was trying to see what was shown on the news.
"The condition is reported to be bad right now. But if the firefighters make it on time, we might control the situation and save some life in there!" the news reporter added.
"Ooh my God! All those people in the mall, I hope nothing bad happens to them." Sophie said.
"Not just people in there... Charlotte is in the mall too!" I added, sounding worried.
