La Mawo Beach Resort!

"Meg, Meg... come on Meg wake up!" I could hear Rafael's voice yelling at me in what I could tell was a deep sleep.

"Meg, come on, wake up. Please Meg!" his voice kept on penetrating through my eardrums, and I knew I had to respond but I just couldn't.

And as the voice was about to fade away in my ears, I opened my eyes, and I saw him supporting my head as I laid down and wet.

"Ooh thank God. She woke up, guys..." Rafael yelled in the other direction as informing someone or some people that I had woken up.

"What happened?" I asked.

"No one is sure right now. But our guess is we're in some sort of an attack!" Sophie replied while coming towards me, and she hugged me from where I was laid.

"I was so worried. Thank God you woke up." She said.

"I'm glad you're okay too..." I said.

"Can you get up, I don't think it's safe here. We should maybe leave!"

"Yeah, I think I can do that. But where is Charlotte?"

"Ooh!" Rafael sounded.

"Where is Charlotte? I can't see her with you guys, where is she?"

"Well, Meg. I'm sorry, but since everyone got up from the attack, no one really saw Charlotte!" Sophie replied with a sorry face.

"What!"

"I'm so sorry Meg. But right now we've to leave, we can't be here anymore... we don't even know who is the one responsible for this." Rafael suggested.

They all kept on talking and insisting on how much we needed to leave the area, but all their voices were blocked to my ears. I couldn't hear anything as I saw bodies on the ground of the people I knew and some that I didn't. And others that were employed at that resort.

My head could be thinking of where Charlotte could be at the time. I knew she was old enough to take care of herself, but in such matters, it doesn't matter how old you are, anything can happen at any time. Tears began flowing from my eyes, and I could imagine myself breaking if I found out anything bad happened to Charlotte. And suddenly, gunshots awoke my ear senses...

"Guys, we've to go. We can't risk any of the guys who did this finding us here, alive!" Rafael said.

"Rafael is right. Come on Meg, we've to go." Sophie insisted.

And just before they could finish up their pleasing words, I got up, but with some pain on my shoulder and a headache.

"Are you okay to walk on your own? Do you want me to carry you" Rafael asked.

"No, it's okay! Let us get out of here."

And we all began walking away, and all others who had survived also began following us towards safety. Well, no one is sure if it's safe, but it's worth a shot!

La Mawo Town!

As we were walking in town, people were just running randomly, some finding places to hide from whatever is happening in town, and some it was now their chance to rob and steal from the panicking pedestrians. For us, it was all empty, empty as we didn't have any idea of whatever was happening, it was all a mess in our trip. But all we could tell for sure is, some of our friends died back there because of this that's happening.

"I need to call dad or mom... anyone at home." I said. While searching for my phone, but I couldn't find it.

"What's wrong?" Sophie asked.

"I can't find my phone!"

"It might have dropped back at the resort. Come let's get somewhere safe first, and then you'll use mine..."

"So, where is safe?"

"Maybe we could use the forests, whoever is doing this, is aiming for the towns. Maybe in a town is the last place to be!" Rafael replied.

"That's a good idea." Sophie agreed with Rafael.

"Okay then, let's move," I said.

La Mawo Forests!

And now everyone was worried, hungry and confused. Walking within the terrifying forests of La Mawo, to which we weren't sure if it was safe like how Rafael suggested it in the first place. I was walking on my own, Sophie was ahead and I guess she didn't want to talk to anyone for the meantime.

"Hey." Rafael rushed towards me, and we began walking together.

"Hi!"

"Can I walk with you?"

"Yeah. Sure"

"Thanks!"

"Are you okay!?" he added.

"I'm trying to be!"

"And how is that holding up?"

"I don't know. I can't tell anymore!" I replied with a confused mind.

"Hey, Meg... it's your mom!" Sophie rushed to me and gave me her phone. I picked it up, and;

"Hey, mom..."

"Hey, sweetheart. Are you okay? What's going on?"

"Mom. I think something wrong is happening here. Everywhere in La Mawo is under attack, and no one knows who or what is doing this."

"Honey, the news says it's a strike from the natives of La Mawo, against the outsiders. It's like they don't want any foreign people in their home town!"

"What!"

"Honey, can you hear me... I can't hear you, you're breaking up!"

"Mom, mom... mom don't disconnect the call... mom!" and the phone got disconnected, and the service got lost. No more calls or texting.

"Wait, have you guys ever read anything on xenophobia!?" Sophie asked.

"What's xenophobia?" I asked too.

"Xenophobia is a word that means, fear of something foreign. Like you fear something from outside your area!" Rafael replied.

"Yes. Something like that. Haven't you guys realized what Meg's mom was saying through the phone... she said people were attacking the outsiders! Don't you think that relates to the xenophobia thing?" Sophie explained.

"Ooh my God. Does that mean, we're in danger?" I asked.

"I think so. We aren't La Mawo natives, I think those people should be hunting us too!" Sophie replied.

"Guys, let's not rush into a sudden conclusion," Rafael suggested.

"It's not a sudden conclusion, it's what's happening right now!" I replied and walked away.
