Lexi
It is so fun to be athletic! I can't believe how easy it is to run as a boy.
I'm done so fast I have time to talk and joke with Alex- Jax's best friend- and I'm not even tired!
I glance over at Jax to see how he's doing at the laps. But when I see him my heart thunders and I remember what I have to tell him.......
.....'Cheyenne,' I had said over text.
'Hey bb!!!! i had fun 2night!!!!! thx!!!'
'welcome. i love you Cheyenne, but.....im gonna break up with you'
She had taken her sweet time responding, typing and deleting, until I was about to say bye, but then, she responded.
'Why?? whats the reason?!💔💔😭😭'
So, I'd explained how I knew she was cheating and all that. Then, of course, she begged forgiveness and said she'd dump the other guy for me, she was so sorry, she loved me, it wasn't fair, blah blah blah. In the end is said no, sorry, love you, bye.Now all I have to do is tell Jax that he's single. Which is gonna be quite the feat. Everyone has heard of Jax's temper. I hate being the bearer of bad- terrible, no, horrendous- news!
.............
All Jax's friends- my friends- know. They're talking about how dumb she is when I hear someone (who I don't want to talk to) calling out, "Lexi. Lexi!"
I close my eyes and smile. You idiot. You're Lexi.
Obviously Jax realizes that, so decides to just walk over. Oh boy. Here we go. I have to tell him now.
"Jax, can I talk to you for a second?"
As I rise, sighing, I hear Alex mutter,"Honestly Lexi. Give the guy a break. His girlfriend just broke up with him. Jeez." Shut up man! Also, I broke up with her!
I seriously hope Jax did not just hear what Jax said.
"Let's go to the hallway. I have something to tell you."
I ignore the suspicious glances and questioning looks from the guys.
.........
After leading Jax far off the main hallways, I turn to him and take a deep breath.
"I broke up with Cheyenne last night, over text for you."
Many emotions scroll across his face. Sadness, confusion, love, regret, hurt, ending in anger. Oh crap.
"You can just turn the heck back around and go apologize and get back together with her right now. You had NO RIGHT TO JUST GO AND BREAK UP WITH MY GIRLFRIEND!"
Jax slams his hands into the wall. I imagine his hands hitting me with that much force, and shudder. I need him to calm down or else he won't rationalize.
"Jax. Stop. Calm down."
He turns to me, his eyes flashing and I realize I could get hurt here.
"Oh so now you're gonna break up with my girlfriend, act like its no big deal, then tell me to calm the frick down! You don't get to WRECK MY LIFE!"
Jax is losing it. I need-have- to get out of here.
"Jax! You don't understand-"
Watching his eyes I realize what's about to happen. I am about to make a break for it, but I'm too slow.
In a sudden jab of pain, the air is knocked from my lungs. I bend over gasping. Only then do I realize, that by bending over, my face is where Jax's fist wants it to be. I try to scream, but his knuckles slam into my face. There's a blinding flash of pain, bright purple, and then everything goes black.
