24.The One With Ashley's Baby Shower

7am the day of Ashley's Baby Shower

Colby wakes me up at seven am by bringing a tray up to the bedroom for breakfast. The tent people erected the 50'x100' tent in our backyard two days ago and Trinity and I spent the majority of yesterday setting up tables with the help of Colby and his cast mates Joe, Remi and Stephen. His other cast mates Elizabeth,Pamela, Mercedes and Adrienne where coming today to help us set up further as they had become friends with all three of us. So they were not only helping set up but where also going to be guests at the shower. I am thankful they volunteered to help out. Ashley is now close to eight months pregnant and we are all praying she didn't go into labor at the shower. But we had a plan in place. Colby was going to have the guys of Ashley's guests in the house and if we need it. Joe who has medical experience is going to drive Adam and Ashley to the hospital while Colby and I would be bringing Ani and Kenny.
"Good Morning Beautiful," said Colby setting the tray in front of me.
"Mmm," I said looking at the tray before I grabbed his face to kiss him "Good Morning Handsome."
" How did you sleep last night? "he asks joining me on the bed "I know how you get the night before an event. With this one meaning more to you I can only imagine how much more nervous you were. I know I felt you tossing and turning at four in the morning."
I laughed as I took a bite of toast "I dreamt that the balloons we have came to life and ate Ashley and Cooper."
Colby looks at me and starts to smirk "Did you eat something before you went to bed?"
" No," I laughed "This means more to Trinity and I then the normal event we plan after all Ashley is like our sister. I think it is my nerves."
A light knock came on our bedroom door before it opens and Trinity (who had stayed last night so we could get as early a start as possible) pokes her head in.
"Hey," I said.
"I went downstairs and no one was there," said Trinity "Except a huge mess."
" Colby Daniel did you mess up my kitchen?! "I said with a smirk.
Colby looks at me sheepishly "Sorry."
" Go clean it up, "I said pushing him off the bed where he landed on the floor with a thud.
" Ow," he said as he stood "Thank god I landed on my ass. At least it's padded."
Trinity and I laugh as Colby left the bedroom. After he shut the door Trinity jumps on the bed and we share the rest of my breakfast.

Four hours later......

We stand there looking around the tent.
"We did a good job," said Elizabeth as she pulled her hair down from it's current ponytail.I
"We sure did," said Mercedes "Because we are badass bosses."
We giggle at that.
"I can't believe in another three hours this place will be filled with guests for Ash," I said as Trinity put an arm around me and I lean against her shoulder.
"Our Ash is going to be a Mama in just about three weeks," said Trinity.
"I know," I said getting teary eyed.
"You girls okay?" asked Pamela.
"We're fine," said Trinity "Just a little emotional. The three of us have been each other's ride or die for the past nearly fourteen years now."
Pamela nodded "Gotcha. You aren't friends anymore you three are sisters."
" You got it, "I smiled hugging Trinity tightly.
" Yep, "said Trinity "The two of them are stuck with me for life."
We all laughed.
"Not to break up this happy moment," said Mercedes " But maybe we should go get ready? "
I looked down. We were all in sweats and t-shirts and sneakers.
"Probably right on that," I said.
We go into the house to get ready.
We all dress in various shades of blue. I wore periwinkle blue,Trinity wore pale blue, Elizabeth wore navy, Pamela wore Cornflower blue and Mercedes wore Sapphire blue.
Ashley had called Robin's egg blue so no one else was wearing that color.

Ashley's Baby Shower
3pm

"Welcome everyone to Ashley's baby shower. Trinity and I couldn't be more happy for her. We love her like a sister," I said "I didn't know anyone when I first came to the states from Ireland.Ashley was the first one I met when I landed the secretary job at Ever After and she was the one that encouraged me to go for my license for event planning. Basically this girl " I said looking at Ashley "my ride or die my sister for life. I love you Ash. To Ashley and Adam!!!"
" To Ashley and Adam, "everyone said raising a glass.
We have a wonderful celebration. When it was time for gifts and to eat the men came out. Thank god we didn't have to put our plan into effect. Ashley didn't go into labor at the shower.
