Ellie skids into the parking lot and shifts into her human form. "Come on!" she says to Thomas, "Let's go!" She runs into the station, with Thomas following close behind her. "Kara!" she yells upon entering the station.
Kara appears and asks, "Ellie, what's going on?" she asks. "Where's the man I asked you to arrest?"
"He's dead."
"What! Ellie, I told you to arrest him! Not kill...""I didn't kill him! He was dead when we got there! We found this in his house though." Ellie hands her the book.
"Oh, dear. This doesn't mean what I think it means, does it?"
"That he raised someone from the dead and now we're fighting a zombie. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up."
"Well, how the hell does one kill a zombie?"
"I'm not actually sure. I need some time to research."
"Alright. Go on."
Ellie goes to the library and searches for zombies on the computer. "Hm," she thinks, "a gunshot to the brain can kill it. If that doesn't work, nail it to it's coffin and then stake it in its heart. Okay, seems easy enough." She returns to Kara and tells her about the information she discovered.
"Alright, love." Kara responds, "Go with Thomas and end this."
Ellie nods and runs off to find Thomas. Ellie finds him talking with an officer. Thomas sees her and motions her over. She runs over to him and yells, "Come on! We're going to find ourselves a zombie!"
Thomas smiles and says goodbye to the officer. He runs over to Ellie and they head out to her motorcycle. "So," he says, "what'd you find?"
"Well, we either inflict brain damage or we nail it to its coffin and stake it through its heart."
"Okay, I prefer the first one." Ellie nods her head in agreement. She pulls into her parking spot in the apartment complex's parking lot. They enter the car and Thomas starts the engine. "So," he says, "where is this thing?"
"I have absolutely no idea. Let's check the graveyard. It might hang around where it was summoned."
"Alright." He drives to the graveyard. They hop out of the car and walk around, until they come across a grave with pentagram sketched onto it.
"Well," Ellie says, "I found its grave." She squats down and closely examines the grave. "Hey, Thomas. I think I found..."
Something suddenly rams into her, sending her flying into the air. "What the hell!" Thomas yells.
Ellie flies backward and hits her head on a different tombstone. "Oof!" she says upon hitting the grave. She sits up, her hand automatically goes up to her head. She touches the wound. It's sticky. When her hand comes back down it's red. "Uh, Thomas?" she says
"Yes?" he answers.
"Um, my head...is...bleeding."
"What?" He runs over to her and pushes her hair away from the wound. He looks closely at it, just to make sure it's not serious. "Hmm, it looks like you cut your head open," he says thoughtfully.
"No shit Sherlock," she sharply replies, "it wouldn't be bleeding if I hadn't cut my head open."
"Can you wait until we kill this thing?"
"Yeah, I'm okay right now. A bit dizzy, nothing I can't handle though."
He offers his hand to her and she takes it. Once she's back up she closes her eyes and listens to their surroundings.
There's a cracking noise nearby. Her eyes flash back open. "This way!" she shouts as she starts to run.
Thomas is several feet behind her, so when something springs out from its hiding place, he can't reach her in time to protect her from its impact.
The mysterious thing knocks Ellie over and they start to wrestle on the ground. In a normal situation Ellie would overpower it, but her head injury prevents her from doing so.
Once Ellie is unconscious, it picks her up and runs away. Thomas tries his hardest to catch up with it, but he can't. "Damn it!" he screams as he punches the ground. He returns to the car and drives to the station to explain the situation to Kara.
