Tzuyu's POV

"Thanks," I said to the Uber driver as I stepped out of the car.

I pushed back my flowing wavy hair to look up at the tall gleaming building before me.

In it were the new Vogue offices and studios where my job interview would take place, a job interview that had been forced on me by my dear mother.

As I entered the extravagant lobby, my hopes of not getting the job strengthened. The girls and women all around me looked like born models.

Their food deprived bodies would probably make it super easy to fit into anything, unlike me, who's sensual curves formed a few restrictions in my closet.
My curves were even more visible in the white long sleeved bodycon dress I was wearing, probably the cause of the many stares.

I tried to ignore the curious stares as I walked to the receptionist. Vogue was engraved into the front of her granite desk.

"Good morning, what can I do for you?" she asked politely.

"My name is Tzuyu Chou, I have an interview."

I gripped the straps of my Chanel bag and hoped for the life of me that I had somehow missed my opportunity and that there weren't any more openings left.

"Yes, Tzuyu Chou. You're right on time. Just go to the nineteenth floor and wait with the other girls there."

Great.

"Thanks," I said with a forced smile.

The black strappy heels on my feet clicked sharply as I moved to the elevator.

As soon as I got in, someone else followed right behind me.

It was a short brown skinned woman with long and thick curly hair. She was wearing my exact same dress, except hers was in a peach color.

"What floor?" she asked me kindly, reaching for the buttons.

"Nineteenth."

Immediately the doors closed, our eyes met through the reflective surface.

"I like your dress," she said with mock approval.

I giggled. "I like your dress too."

"Balmain?" we both said and laughed together.

"I'm Mina," she said, stretching out her hand.

"I'm Tzuyu." I eagerly shook hers.

If I was going to get the job, I didn't want to look like a lost sheep. I needed friendly guidance.

"You work here?" she asked amusingly.

"No, I'm here for an interview. What about you?"

"I'm on the other side of the building, I just use this side to come in sometimes."

"Other side?" I was confused.

The elevator stopped at the tenth floor where a couple of business looking men climbed in.

"Yeah, Cecil Records, the other company in this building."

"This building is shared by two companies?"

"Yeah, it's location is extremely profitable, so
Vogue and Cecil decided to share it instead of the money sucking lawsuits."

"That makes sense. I've never heard of Cecil's Records though."

"It's super new, but flourishing so quickly. My boss is a real pain in the ass though," Mina said with a laugh.

"I suppose he has a lot to think about."
