Inko MIdoriya died when Izuku was 13
In this kingdom, run by Endeavor, all omegas are required to be taken to the king at birth. and if he does not deem them worthy to be a palace servant or suitable mate for an official or his son, who has yet to find a mate, they are put up in the omega slave trade. it is illegal to hide an omega. and anyone who has knowledge of a hidden omega, and does not tell it to the knights' of the king, is arrested.
omega heats are once a month for 3-6 days
only omegas have permanent ears and tails. so Izuku always wore a bunny ear hood and a patched up trench coat. Alphas' have them, but can put them away at will.
Izuku has been homeless ever sense the death of his mother. he has passed as a beta for 5 years. on his heats, he would hide in a cave out in the wilderness. in the cave, he would have food, a couple of blankets and pillows, candles, and water. he only stayed in the front chamber of the cave. the back of the cave was a maze of corridors. at the entrance to the cave he put up smelly herbs to cover his strong scent.
