I smile and sat up, rubbing my eyes. Mom is holding a cake, Matthew is leaning against the doorframe. Oh yeah. We haven’t made up. I blow the candle and Mom smile.
“Time for presents!” Mom yells and walks out the room. Matt smiles and sits beside me.
“Good morning, birthday girl” Matt says and I smile.
“Last time I checked, we were arguing” I say and he chuckles.
“Nah, you’re just moody. You period’s coming up”

“No, you’re not”
“Haha. Lub choo, bruther”
“Lub choo, wittle sister” He hugs me and I giggle. Mom comes back in my room, holding two neatly wrapped gifts.
“From your dad and from me” Mom says giving me the boxes. “Come on, open it!”
I open the blue wrapped box which is from dad and it is a nice light blue dress, I love it. Next I open mom’s; it’s a nice pair of light blue heels and a…
“Mom! You got me a The Vamps concert tickets!” I yell and hug mom. She is laughing and I’m crying.
“Happy birthday, sweetie!” She says and I kiss her cheek.
“Thank you so much!” I say and pull away.
“From your sexy brother” Matt says and gives me his gift. I open it and it’s a box full of tampon pads.
“Matthew Lee Espinosa! Come back here at this instant!” I yell as I hear Matt’s laughter around the house. He comes back with another box, smiling.
“Here’s my real gift” He says and I roll my eyes. I open it and it’s a nice sweater and pair of skinny jeans.
“Thanks, bubba” I say and kiss his cheek.
“Now, go get ready for school” Mom says and I nod. They left my room and I take a nice shower. I do my daily routine and remember it’s a non-uniform day. Yay! I wear a nice light brown sweater, skinny jeans, brown boots and Gryffindor scarf. I look at the mirror and think a bright idea. I remove my disguise, No, if you’re thinking that I’m going to give up this disguising thing then you’re wrong. I re apply powder and put a little bit to thicken my eyebrow. I put some baby lips on my lips and remove my retainer. I wear my glasses and look at the mirror. A little less horrible.
I walk down the staircase and to the dining area.
“That’s nice” Matt says and I smile. “But you’re still Michelle the nerd”
“Ha-ha, very funny” I say and eat my cereal.
“Would you like to walk with us today?”
“Sorry, dude. I’ll walk with Shawn”
He smiles cheekily. “Is he your boyfriend?”
“Matthew Lee Espinosa! Your sister just turned 14!” Mom scolds him.
I put my tongue out at him and he rolls his eyes. The doorbells rings and mom gets the door. Matt smiles cheekily again to me and I roll my eyes. “Lover boy’s here”
“Shut up!” I say and he chuckles.
“Mitch, Shawn is here” Mom says as she reenters the dining area with Shawn. I smile at him and wave. I get up with my cereal bowl and walk to the sink. I brush my teeth and wipe the excess water with a towel. I walk back to the dining area and kiss mom on the cheek. I ruffle Matt’s hair and he groans.
