Sometimes,
In the middle of the night,
I wake up, and I feel like someone's just there
Watching,
And sometimes,
I think,
Maybe it's just the shadows remembering the lit screen of my phone
at 3 am as we just
Talked and talked
Same place,
Same time,
Last year,
But nothing's the same
But everything's changed
I remember when I,
Broken, shattered me,
Had to watch you cry
As you were broken,
Shattered,
You,
And I remember when I,
realized that you were the first love I ever had,
And that it was so pure in how
It wasn't love like the movies,
It was love like us,
Like the sliding of raindrops down the window sill on a summer's day,
Like the sliding of drips melting ice cream into your hand,
down
down
down.
Same place,
Same time,
This year,
But nothing's the same,
But everything's changed,
I can't help but think,
As I lie there,
Awake.
That all the glances,
And the stares,
That all the screams,
And all the scars,
Are all just the same us we've always been.
