Chapter 3

I rang on her door and Kate opened.
"Hey Aria, come in" Kate said and I went in. We went upstairs to her room and just chilled.

"Kate? Can I ask you something?" I said and faced her. "sure, go for it" she answered me. "why does everyone think, that Chase and Payton are dangerous or something?" I said fast. Kate sat up in her bed, I did too.

"well, there have been rumors. Listen, they say, that they've been into criminal actions. Or that they have beaten up a boy, and that boy had to stay in the hospital for several days" Kate explained to me. "really? They don't seem like that" I raised an eyebrow. "the rumors are old, but now that they've been suspended for 2 month, there are of course more rumors" Kate told me.

"okay" I simply answered. Later that day, I went back home. I was always thinking about Chase and Payton, why have been suspended? Why do everyone think they're bad? My mother pulled me out of my thinking.

"Aria? How was your day?" she suddenly asked me. "umm good, I was at Kate's house and we chilled" I said. "great" she simply said and walked away. I walked upstairs and threw myself onto my bed. I googled their names, but nothing came up, I was confused.

The next day, I normally stood up and went to school. I met Kate and Audrey before school, and we talked until the school started. I had Chemistry first, and I was alone. Until, Chase and Payton walked into the class.

They took the seats right next to me, and threw a look over to me for a second. I didn't payed attention to them for the rest of my class, just so they wouldn't distract me.

I was the first who walked out, when the lesson was over. At lunch I sat with Kate and the others, but also Chase and Payton got my attention.

"guys, I'll throw a party today! Invite who you want!" Audrey said exited. "really? Nice!" I said. "omg, Aria, we need to go shopping for that" Kate said exited. "yes!" I shouted. They continued to talk about the party for the next few minutes.

"I'll be right back" I said and stood up. I went into the direction of the table, where Chase and Payton sit. I stopped in front of them.

"Hey guys" I said and raised my eyebrows. "look, there's a big party tonight, and I'd love it if you two would come" I explained. They looked at each other and back to me. "I don't think that's a good idea" Chase mumbled. "why?" I said. "look, I don't know if they've told you yet, but we're not really popular here" Payton explained. "I don't care, see you late then" I said and went away.

As I came back to the others, they were looking at me with big eyes. "did you?" Audrey said slowly while pointing to them. "yes I did, and i don't want anyone to say anything else" I said and sat down.

After school, Kate and I drove into the city. We walked through the streets and looked for clothes. We tried on a bunch of dresses and pants, but we couldn't choose. I ended up, buying a crop top with a red rose on, and shorts. I also bought new sneakers and socks.

When Kate and I were back at her home, I called my mother, to ask her if I can go to the party.

"Hey mom! There's a party today, one of my friends is throwing it, can I go?" I said exited through my phone. "yeah, why not. But please don't end up like in Florida" she said. "yes mom" I rolled my eyes and hung up.

"what did she said?" Kate said in an exiting tone. "I can!" I yelled. "yas! Let's get ready!" she said exited. We did our hair, make up and put our new clothes on. I was feeling kinda confident in that, maybe because I still knew it from Florida.

When it was 8 PM, we got picked up from Kate's friends. When we arrived at Audrey's house, it was a big modern Villa. We went in, and Audrey greeted us.

I got myself a drink, and waited for Chase and Payton. I talked to a boy that I've met about an minute ago, when Audrey yelled my name.
"Aria! Your guests are here!" Audrey yelled. "I'm coming" I said and walked over to her.

"Hey" I greeted them. They didn't responded to me. "you could at least say hello, when I talk to you" I said a bit selfish. "hi" they both said.
"well, go grab a drink and have fun" I said and walked to Kate.

It was about 10 PM, when I saw Chase and Payton waking outside, to the pool where nobody was, I followed them.
I saw them both sitting on two chairs, and talking.

"Hey, why are you out here alone" I asked them. They didn't even respond. I grabbed a chair and sat myself next to Chase.

"tell me, why are you so unsocial?" I asked again, "and now, you should response to me, or this will not have an happy ending". They looked at each other and looked to the ground.

"well, as you may know, we've been suspended for 2 month" Chase said. "yes I know that" I answered. "and since we've been transfered from Los Angeles to California, we wasn't fitting in. Like, nobody asked us to sit with them or anything else. Maybe, they've heard about the things there" Payton let his head fall.

"whoa, what? That's insane!" I said loud. "it isn't, as you can see, it's true" Chase said. "it is?" I asked confused. "we won't talk about this now" Payton interrupted Chase and stood up. "we've to go home now" Payton told me.

"uhh, okay" I said and stood up, "see you". "Bye" Chase and Payton said while leaving fast.

I went back in to Kate and the others. "how did it went?" Kate asked me. "good" I simply said. "just good? Nothing more?" Kate shaked her head.
"no" I rolled my eyes. "I wanna go home now" I also said.

"I can take you home" a guy said, while appearing behind Kate. "really? You'd do that?" Kate said surprised. "of course, for such a pretty girl like her" he smiled. "if it's okay for you?" Kate turned her head back to me. "ugh, yeah why not" I answered.

"nice, by the way, I'm Jack" he said. We went outside to his car, I took place on the passenger seat.
