The setting takes place after Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Hope, and all of his friends that survived, leave the killing game of Hope's Peak Academy. "We did it guys, we escaped the killing game." Makoto said. It was tough for Makoto to see most of his friends die, but what was important was that he and his friends won the killing game and survived.
