A/N: Some useful info. Alec's gift takes away your senses, Jane inflicts pain, Chelsea influences emotional bonds, Demetri is the best tracker in the world, Felix does not possess an actual ability but he is strong, and Reneta can shield herself and others. She is Aro's personal bodyguard, Corin soothes people into complacency but her gift is addictive and a person can become unable to feel well without it. This is when things start to get serious. Better buckle in. Ha. Jokes.

"Private jet?! Aren't you vampires though?" I questioned. In front of me rested a jet. Before us stood Alec, Jane, Chelsea, Demetri, Reneta, Felix, Corin, Athenadora, and Sulpicia.

"Last time I checked, yes." Marcus quipped and I smiled.

"No, I just mean that can't you guys just run to Volterra?"

"We could but it would be slower than a jet and why should we bother when we can travel in comfort?" Marcus answered again. I looked for Aro to find him talking quietly with Chelsea. "I gather introductions are in order, my dear?"

"Ah, yes," Caius exclaimed. He stepped forward and gestured toward the twins, "They are Alec-"

"I know. Mind reading is one of the perks of my power." Aro's head snapped up at my words and his conversation with Chelsea grew more intense. I frowned but decided to not use any of my gifts out of respect for their privacy. They were far enough and talking quietly enough that I couldn't hear a word. Mom stiffened beside me and I turned to her. Dad moved to her side as well while we both waited for her vision to pass. I knew I could see the same thing as her if I wanted to but ultimately decided against it. I saw Aro and Chelsea move towards the Wives, which still felt odd to say considering my relationship with the Kings. Corin joined them and I frowned. I wondered what was happening. Aunt Rose and Uncle Em had moved to join us so between the four of us, we were blocking everyone's view of Mom. She blinked her vision away and shuddered, clearly shaken to the core. I frowned again but Mom just looked at me and nodded. I looked into her mind.

'Shield us, darling. A mental shield over us all and don't ever let it drop Sweetie, or we will be in grave danger.'

I did as she asked of me then searched for her vision. And it was awful. If I ever let the shield drop then Chelsea would swoop in and bind us permanently to the Kings so we never tried to leave. If being with my family caused too many problems, which it would, then Chelsea would destroy my connection to them and Aro would eventually kill them. I would be trapped in a tower with the Wives and slowly become addicted to Corin's gift. Corin would have me in a constant state of complacency, to the point that I wouldn't use any of my gifts unless ordered by Aro. I would be nothing more than a trophy. Aro's little pet. One day Chelsea would slip up and Caius and Marcus would slip far enough out of her hold on them that they would try to run away with me. We make it out of Volterra but I was too addicted to Corin's gift to be happy and would become extremely depressed. Demetri catches us, because of course he does, and in retribution, Aro kills Caius and Marcus. Corin ups her dosage and I never leave Aro's side again, constantly by his side as a replacement for Marcus and his gift. Centuries later, on a battlefield by Aro's side with Corin next to me, Corin and Chelsea end up getting killed leaving me completely out of their influence. Leaving the entire guard out of their influence. I escape Aro along with several others, only to kill myself less than a year later, unable to survive without Corin's gift.

I blink the vision away with tears obstructing my sight. I choke back a sob and touch the others, to show them what Mom and I saw. We stood there together, equally shaken by the future. We have to get out of here, but where ever we go, Demetri will find us.

'Look into Aro's mind, Sweetie. See what he has done, see what he is planning. We need a plan and we need one now.'  Mom thinks to me. I nod and search for Aro's mind amid the others around me and I see the awful things he has done. Aro had a sister named Didyme and she was Marcus's mate. They loved each other deeply and eventually grew unhappy in the Volturi, and discussed leaving it. Aro read their thoughts and waited for an opportunity where he wouldn't be caught then murdered his sister. Marcus never found out and when he got tired of vengeance, he became crippled by grief, to the point that he considered suicide. Chelsea kept Marcus loyal to Aro but it wasn't enough to make him show any enthusiasm. Marcus refused the comfort of Corin's gift because he didn't want to forget his pain. My heart ached for Marcus.

As if on cue Marcus and Caius came up to us and I made a split-second decision, spreading my gift to include them both. They both stumble slightly but thankfully no one seems to notice. My family frowns but I simply touch my mates and show them what I have seen.

'I have a plan.'  I tell them all, mentally, 'Unfortunately, it will take time and lots of lying on our part. I need to learn how Chelsea's power works so we have to pretend like everything is fine until I do. Once I figure it out I will sever the ties she has formed before creating a tie and binding her to us. This will be a slow process if we wish to avoid all-out war. We need to act as if nothing has changed. I will shield us all but we must not let Aro suspect anything. I figure I can limit what he sees when he touches us so he doesn't suspect anything which should keep us safe. I don't know if the shield will hold up while I sleep though. Demetri's tie to Aro needs to be severed first. With him on our side, if we run away, we might actually stand a chance of not getting caught. Any questions or suggestions?'

'We need to wrap this up. Aro's conversation is almost done.' My Dad informed me.

'Okay. Is everyone in on this? Are you on our side, Caius?'  It was Caius I was most concerned with. He's the most sadistic of them all and I worried that he wouldn't want to leave his current lifestyle that allowed him as much war and killing as he could ever desire.

'You are my True Mate. I will follow you anywhere. I am just concerned about Athenadora and Sulpicia. They are addicted to Corin's gift and I worry for them once they are no longer under her influence.' Caius assured me. I frowned. I had not thought of the Wives.

'We will figure it out later. For now, Mom, I need you to get a vision. Now.'  She nodded and in her mind, I saw Nessie's future and it was good. She was going to be very happy with Jake. I pulled out of their minds after placing a fake memory of this conversation. We stood together and talked about Nessie's future instead of our own.

"Ready?" Aro came up to us with a smile. Where before I used to find this smile beautiful and comforting, I now saw it for what it really was. The smile of a predator. Nothing but teeth.

"Yes," I smiled.

A/N TA-DA. Now we get into the real plot. If you find any plot holes, please excuse me. I didn't read over other chapters except for a few basic things. Several parts of this chapter were taken from The Official Illustrated Guide, so if you recognize them, that's probably why.

Thank you all for reading this story. I don't know why you do because until now, I haven't liked what I've written but I really like the direction I've taken this story now.

I have started my senior year of high school, I have a full schedule, and hard classes but I will try to keep updating. I only ask that you don't pester me for an update. I love comments and feedback but when every comment just says "Update," like a command, it gets frustrating.

I love comments on the story itself and I don't mind you guys asking for an update when you say what you like about the update and then ask for another. I do not like, "update," but I'm okay with, "please update," The please is polite so it doesn't bother me.

Okay, I'll stop now. I hope you enjoyed.
