Part 4 - The Nest

This is something like what lance did, just imagine a tv instead of a laptop and it separated by color for each person. And that it's big enough for everyone.

"Uuuhhh? Lance?" Pidge questions
Lance comes out of the nest
"Lance? What is this? And why is it in my living room?" Shiro is also wondering,
"I know what this is. Lance why here?"
I start crying, "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I-i can take i-it down. It's just been a l-long time. I understand If you don't like it." They gives me sorry looks. "No Lance this is perfect. How long has it been buddy." Hunk says as he hugs me.
"When was the last time I went to your house?"
"Bud that was 4 months ago since I've been busy. Why?"
"4 months ago t-then" I start crying harder. "Lance why?! That's not healthy! Your telling me it's been 4 months! What about your heat?! You must have been miserable!"
"Hunk! Calm down! Your not helping the situation and no one else knows what your talking about!" Pidge yells.
"I'm s-sorry. I'm sorry your mad. I'm sorry." I break down.
"No bud, I'm not mad. I was just worried."
"Oh, well I can take it d-down if you don't
l-like it."
"No. Don't take it down. It's lovely. Why don't you go lay down for a bit while I talk to everyone ok?"
"O-ok." I go and lay down and fall asleep instantly.

-Hunks P.O.V -

I go cover lance with a blanket and come out to talk to the others.
"Hunk what's going on? And what is in our living room?" Shiro asked sounding concerned.
"Ok so Lance as you all know is an Omega...
This is a nest. Although they aren't usually this elaborate unless it's for a reason. In this case I think it's a mix between not doing it in 4 months, and the fact that he wanted us, his pack, to like it. Even if he wasn't really aware."
I explain.

"Ok ok wait. So this is a nest correct, and when you were yelling you said it was unhealthy and you made it seem like 4 months is this crazy long time. Why does it matter that much?"

"Omegas go into heat every 3 months. Just before there heat, they start collecting stuff for the nest so there surrounded by familiar sent. If they don't collect things for the nest they feel incredibly lonely and closed off. According to Lance the last time he nested was when he was at my house 4 months ago. His family was out of town but since his heat was coming up he stayed behind."

"Ok but why was he so upset? And why was it so important to him that we liked it?"

"When an omega makes their nest it's very important that their pack likes it. And if they have an Alpha, it's even more important. Some omegas have committed suicide if there nests aren't accepted." "If it's that important then why hasn't Lance made one in so long?"

"I don't know. It's a natural instinct to nest. Even when not in heat. We'll have to ask him when he wakes up."

-It's been Half an hour-

We were all in the kitchen talking and I see Lance wall in.
"Hey Lance. How ya feelin?"
"Better. I'm hungry though."
"We'll eat up. I'm sure you need it."
"Hey, Lance?"
"What? Are you mad at me?"
"No, were not mad. We just had a question?"
"Ok. Go ahead."
"Um, we were wondering. Why haven't you been nesting Lance?"
He pauses for a moment,
"I haven't had a good spot for it. And I had no sents to use.
"What do you mean Lance? You've been at home all brake. You have all your families sents right? And that means you also had somewhere to do it."
"I didn't have a safe space and I couldn't take their stuff."
"What do you mean it wasn't safe? Why couldn't you take their stuff? They should've known to give it to you."

-Lances P.O.V-

Quick, make up a lie lance. You'll get beat if they find out.
"We were moving stuff around the house. Everyone's things were all closed up and they were painting their rooms. I had to stay in mine. It kept changing and it was load, it wasn't safe it smelled bad. It wasn't safe."
"Okay, okay lance calm down. I'm sorry, but why didn't you tell me or Pidge? We would've helped. You just had to ask."

And with that I broke.

"I CAN'T LET THEM KNOW!
I CAN'T LET THEM KNOW!
YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW!
HE'LL DO IT AGAIN! IT'LL BE WORSE!! YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW!
YOU CAN'T KNOW!
YOU CAN'T KNOW!
I CAN'T LET THEM SEE! THEY'LL HATE ME! I CAN'T LET THEM SEE!
HE'LL DO IT AGAIN! YOU CAN'T KNOW!"
I fall to the ground crying and hyperventilating.

-Hunks P.O.V-

After all the yelling I see Lance fall to the ground and start hyperventilating.
"LANCE! OMG!" Hunk stay calm, it'll only get worse.
I get down on the ground and hug him.
"Lance. Just breath ok. Ready?
In 2 3 4. Out 2 3 4.  In 2 3 4. Out 2 3 4.
In 2 3 4. Out 2 3 4.  In 2 3 4. Out 2 3 4." I stop once he's breathing normally.
"There you go bud. You alright."
He looks up at me. His eyes go wide and he gets up and runs to his portfolio and one of his bags. I tried getting him to stop but he just ran past me and locked himself in the guest room.

I turn to face everybody and see they share my shocked expression.
"What. Just. Happened." Says Pidge,
"I-I don't know."
"What was he talking about guys, has that ever happened before?"
"I wish I could tell you Keith. Nothing like thats ever happened before. Now that I think about it Lances is never sad. I've never heard him complain or cry or yell about his family once until now. I s-should have known. No ones like that. I s-should have known."
"It's not your fault Hunk. Now we just have to focus on how we're gonna handle this."
Keith is actually being comforting right now.
"T-thanks Keith, you right. Um. I would suggest looking at his stuff but he took everything but his clothes with him."

"Even his portfolio? Wait why did he even bring that? It's not like he was gonna show us."
"I didn't ask. When he got in my car we just
started talking about how excited we were."

"Well it's only 10:37 so how about we give him some time to cool down, then go talk with him?"
"Good idea Shiro. Allura, your the pack Alpha, What do you think?"
"That sounds Brilliant. Thanks for asking."
