Marinette huddled on her bed, swaddled in a thousand blankets. She attacked Adrien. How could she do that? How could she do that to him?

"Hey." His soft voice broke her thoughts. "How are you feeling?"

Tears pricked in her eyes. "I am so sorry, Adrien. I don't know what came over me."

"It's okay. Promise, Princess."

"But I-"

"But nothing." He crawled up next to her, holding more blankets than her, but the gesture warmed Marinette more than the blankets could. "You've been so busy helping me, but you have the same problems."

"I doubt that. Everything I knew hasn't been challenged. I didn't lose everything. I'm just overreacting. That's all."

"No, you're not. And I didn't lose everything. I have you. Don't I?"

She smiled, nodding.

The room went quiet and they couldn't tear their eyes off the other. Hesitant and ready to pull away at any second, they inched closer.

The sweetest thing about a first kiss is the moment mutual longing is realized.

Yes, they had kissed before, but both never remembered the moment. This time, no akuma or villain ruined it. No spell erased the memory of this moment.

When Sabine checked on the young heroes later to retrieve them for dinner, she found them asleep, unconsciously clinging to each other.

She smiled and closed the trap door softly. She didn't however notice the two kwamis also asleep next to their holder's heads.

Not even the lying queen of Paris finding a pretty purple brooch could ruin the second of peace. Her war could wait.
