Percy POV
I sighed as I laid on my bed in my cabin. The last quest had to have been the most stressful. I wasn't supposed to be on it, but I just couldn't help it. Annabeth was in danger and there's no way I'm gonna let one of my best friends be kidnapped and not do something about it. I don't care what anyone says. Everyone was given a few weeks off since we had to face a Titan and Annabeth and I held up the sky. Annabeth is using this time to try to reconnect with her father and his family. Thalia joined the hunt and Nico ran off in anger so I'm kinda alone. Well, there's always my mom, but I don't wanna go there and mess up her 'meetings' with that Blowfish guy. However I don't exactly wanna stay at camp either.
Wait, I know exactly what to do. There's only one place I can think off that will calm me down and get rid of my stress and worries. The most basic, non-exciting place on the earth. A place so unbelievably boring it's not even on the map. No one would think to look for a demigod, much less me, there. I'm going to Arcadia Bay. The home of my two best friends. Well, one best friend at the moment. If I'm right Max left a few months ago for Seattle. Also if I'm correct she didn't really tell Chloe. Man did that hit Chloe hard. She still calls when she can to vent and rant when Max is being a douche. I sighed again.
No time to dwell on that I thought as I stood up. I grabbed a drachma from my nightstand drawer and went over to the fountain. I said the chant for Iris to hear me and threw the drachma into the mist. At first noting, but then my mom shimmers into existence. She was rushing around the kitchen, trying to clean up. I smirked, but decided to say nothing about it.
"Hey mom." I said. She stopped in her tracks and looked over at me. "Percy! Oh gods are you ok!? What were you thinking sneaking onto that quest!?" She asked angrily. "You know how I am mom, I'm not just going to sit back and watch as my friend is in danger." She sighed, but calmed down. "I know, I was just worried. So, are you coming home for winter?" She asked. "Uhh, no actually. I'm not. I'm not even staying in New York." I said. She raised a motherly eyebrow. "And where exactly do you think you're going?" I chucked nervously. "Arcadia Bay. Only for a little while!" I added on quickly. She seemed to think about this.
"One week. That's it." She said. I smiled and nodded. "If you end up staying any longer than you call me." I nodded again. "Good. I'll contact Chiron and ask him to give you the money for a train ride there in the morning." My smile widened. "Thanks a bunch mom. Love you." "Love you too." I swiped through the mist and laid back down. Tomorrow was definitely going to be one awesome day.

The next day I woke up and took a shower. Once I was done with that I threw on a dark blue long sleeve T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, black vans and a dark grey hoodie. Why am I only wearing a hoodie? Well as a son of Poseidon the temperature rarely ever affects me. After I was dressed I started packing everything I thought I would need for a week and two days away. It would take me two days to get to Oregon. I packed a good amount of clothes, another pair of shoes, a few water bottles, nectar and ambrosia. Never know when a monster will randomly attack.
I then left my cabin with my bag over my shoulder and started to make my way to the dining pavilion. When I got there people were already there. Including the hunters. I guess they decided to stay for breakfast. I sat down and placed my bag on the bench next to me. After summoning a small and quick breakfast I got up to throw something in for my dad. As I made my way back, my dear cousin just had to call me out. At the top of her lungs.
"Oi! That's not regular camp attire! That either means you're finally breaking your goody two shoes streak or you're leaving!" She yelled. I stopped and hung my head. I could feel everyone's eyes on me now. Sighing in annoyance I turned the hunters table and stared directly into Thalia's eyes. "Do you enjoy making me miserable?" I asked. She smiled. "Yup! It gives me meaning in life." She said. I rolled my eyes and started walking away. "Uh, Uh! You ain't answer my question." I smirked. "You never asked one." I sassed. She scowled at me. "I hate you." I shrugged and walked back to my table. Once I was done eating I grabbed my bag and went up to the head table, where Chiron sat with Mr. D.
"Are you sure you'd like to go Percy?" He asked. "Yea. I kinda need to get away, ya know?" He nodded and gave me a wad of cash. "That's should cover a ticket there, food from the train car and a ticket back." I nodded and turned only to come face to face with Thalia. "Oh, hello." I said causally. She huffed in annoyance. "Seriously, where are you going?" I just smiled. "Why do you need to know?" I asked crossing my arms. "I need to be able to call and annoy you if I get bored." I raised an eyebrow and looked behind her at Lady Artemis. She just shrugged and walked away, the hunters reluctantly and confusingly following their leader. I looked back at Thalia who was waiting impatiently.
"Fine!" I sighed. "I'm going to Oregon to visit a few old friends." I finally relented. "You have friends in Oregon?" She looked genuinely surprised. "Yea, I get around a lot more than you'd think." I said as I started making my way to the hill where Argus would be waiting at the bottom in the camp van. "Huh, surprising." She muttered as she followed. When we reached the hill the hunters were waiting for Thalia at the top while Argus waiting for me at the bottom. "Welp, see ya when I do Lia." She froze. "What did you just call me?" She asked in a dead voice. Like she had just entered a trance.
"Uhh, Lia? Sorry I did. I won't call yo.." She cut me off by covering by covering my mouth with he hand. "It's fine. It's just, someone else used to call me that." She had tears growing in the corners of her eyes. "Oh, sorry." I said awkwardly. I didn't exactly know what to say. She never tells anyone about her past. Like ever. Not even Annabeth knows much. "Like I said, it's fine. See ya later perce." She jogged up to the hunters and with a final wave she was gone. I shook my head and started up the hill. Man I couldn't wait to see Chloe again. It's been years. Though, I can't believe with what's been happening lately I still managed to keep in contact for so long. It should've been impossible
These were my thoughts as I got into the van. Get ready Arcadia Bay, here comes the trouble maker.
