i am from nowhere
i have no country, no creed, no person to pledge myself to
i am my own, and that's enough
but if you need more from me, I will give you what you wish for
i am from dark nights and harsh words
from suffocating eyes, and reaching hands
i hail to the birds
and to the clouds
that have taught me so much more
about myself
than any class ever could
i am from starry skies
side by side with myself on a blanket
wondering how it is possible
to be made from the same atoms as those pinpricks in the sky
i am from heartache, but I don't dwell on that
i am from the trees, raised by the creatures dwelling within
i told you I don't have any place I'm loyal to
but by god
i was shaped nonetheless
