This is it, I am going to die.

My body shakes as I see death watching over the scene in his long black cape. His red calculating orbs waiting for my soul to return to his cosmic collection.

The wolf's movements become slow as my brain refuses to believe this is the end. The wolves watching snarl at the crouched wolf telling him to hurry up. My murderer snaps his jaw as he springs forward. I tense and close my eyes, awaiting the pain his teeth will inflict onto my already damaged body. My breathing becomes the only sound I hear as my senses numb.

I wait for my inevitable doom for agonisingly long moments. My body never relaxes even as the moments turn to minutes, my ears tune back into the wild as I start to realise that this isn't death. It should be more painful than this.

The ringing in my ears turn down and the sounds around me invade my senses. Thunderous growls and shrilling whimpers filled the space, I hesitantly peel my eyes open afraid of what I might see.

A midnight black wolf stands protectively in front of me. His titanic size distinguishable from the other wolves, muscles ripple under his fur as he growls low and wildly warning the grey wolf in front of him to stand down. My dark friend's blood lust for the threat before him clouding his intelligent mind.

The grey wolf takes a foolish step forward blinded by the need to kill. My savior wastes no time in defending me by leaping forward and snapping his teeth around the wolf's throat. The grey wolf whimpers trying to escape but only realising his grave mistake to late, his forearms push against the giant's large chest as he begs for forgiveness.

His efforts do nothing to terminate the furious monster from clamping down harder onto his neck and squeezing with all his force.

A sickening crack comes from the wolf's neck making him stop all movement, his neck flops to the side as his mouth relaxes and his red tongue falls out. The fear is his expression leaves his now vacant eyes as they roll back into his head.

All I do is watch in shock as the ebony coloured wolf throws his victim to the ground and turns back to the rest of the pack, their eyes plagued with fear when they see their Alpha seething with anger. He growls at them as his chest puffs up as a sign of dominance. They bow without hesitation and show their necks.

I notice their distraction and see my opportunity. I look behind me then back to the Alpha wolf growling at his pack then back behind me. I risk standing up with my shaking legs, my movements slow hoping to not draw attention to myself.

I gasp when the Alpha's head snaps to me. We stare into each other's eyes in a silent game, each seeing who will move first. I notice blood coating his mouth as he pants ragged breaths. My breathing accelerates as I look into light grey eyes, a spark of intelligence flicker in them as he sees my body sway to the left. Almost like he knows what I am going to do next. That isn't normal, a wolf holding so much intelligence.

I feel like a mouse in a lions dens, or better yet a pack of wolves. Our little game ends when he hesitantly steps one of his large paws forward. Panic rushes over me and I snap, not wasting any time as I sprint in the opposite direction.

Loud snarls echo around me as I try to run faster. Paw thuds increase from behind becoming louder and closer. I feel cheated, they have four legs yet I only have two.

I see black fur in my peripheral vision as tears sling down my smudge cheeks once again. I make a quick right hoping to throw him off my trail but that only seems to make him run quicker. He appears beside me but makes no moves to touch me.

"Get away from me!" I yell as he continues to chase me.

While I am gasping for air he seems to be growing bored with our slow pace. Bile rises in my throat as my body begins to give up. When it becomes obvious this wolf is not going to tackle me or try to hurt me I stop and clutch my burning chest.

"Fuck!" I cough out.

I look up at the wolf to see him sitting on his hind legs wagging its enormous tale, something so obviously out of character. His faces showing emotions that no wolf should have. Amusement and curiosity shine in his eyes as he watches me catching my breath.

"What are you looking at huh?" I wheeze out trying to sound macho.

He tilts his head and barks. His murderous features have soften making him look like a puppy rather than the Alpha he was minutes ago. I look around and see the other wolves did not follow me, only the large dog.

"Be a good boy and go away" my idiotic self says to the giant manual in front of me.

The wolf replies with a growl and I quickly step back thinking he will attack me.

He stalks towards me yet I do not feel threatened like I did with the other wolves.

Yeah, I am officially crazy. First I have a conversation with an animal then I don't feel threatened when the death machine approaches me.

He continues his advances when he sees that I am not making an attempt to run and stops inches away. His ears fold back against his head and he tilts it to the side.

"Yes?" I question.

He moves his head forward and nudged his wet nose against my hand. I look down in confusion before realising what he wants.

I slowly bring my hand up past his sharp teeth which currently can be seen by his doggish smile and rest my dirty hand on his silky soft fur. Strange tingles run up my arm as I continue to pet his shiny fur. I keep petting him, loving the feeling that comes with it.

"You like that big boy?" I cue in a baby voice as I scratch behind his ears.

His chest tumbled as he pushes his head into my stomach, rubbing his black fur against my ripped shirt.

"Can you let me go now?" I whisper.

His grey eyes snaps to mine and he shakes his head. I am in awe at his unsuspected intelligence.

He huffs then begins to back up, I feel happy relief wash over me when I see him retreat but that quickly vanishes when he stops a few feet away.

I stumble back in shock when his body starts to convulse and steam rises from his skin. My mind struggles to comprehend when the wolf's front leg turns into a muscular arm. His body begins to morph into different human features until a muscular man kneels before me. He stays in his crouched position with his head down, a black mop of soft hair similar to the wolf's on his head.

His head slowly rises as his hard chest moves up and down from his steady breathing. He stands up showing his hard body.

His whole form is bare for my eyes, his defined cheek bones, his roman-shaped nose, his piercing grey eyes, his strong chest, his pelvis, his....

The features on his face are the reincarnation of the Greek God, Adonis, his beauty taking my breath away.

Silence washes over the forest as we stare into each other's eyes. His grey eyes looking deep into my soul. I should be shaken to my core but all I feel is calm.

"What are you?" I ask in disbelief.
