Alpha Gabriel's territory

"Please! Tell me what's going on" I beg Huxley.

He continues to smile at me with warmth and goes to rest his hand on my shoulder before halting then retracting it.

"I can only explain what the Alpha permits but you need to know how rare and special you are" he breathes, the look of wonder not changing.

"I- I am just a human. Please let me go back" I plea.

Huxley shakes his head and sighs.

"Unfortunately that is not possible. The Moon Goddess decides if you go back and I am not her" he says and smiles down at me.

"Why do you keep smiling at me?" I ask.

"Because you were thought to have become extinct, your species has not come from that forest in centuries and now you are here. I am blessed by the Goddess to have been able to meet you" he beams.

"Tell me more"

Huxley looks around unsure before leaning closer to me.

"Like I said... the Alpha will only allow me to say so much but I can tell you that you have more power than you think. You must only look to the sky" he whispers cryptically then stands.

"Luna, it has been an absolute pleasure but I have issues that need tending to. Alpha Gabriel will be here soon" he excuse himself before leaving me in the old fashioned room.

Why did he leave so quickly? How does he know he is needed elsewhere?

"Gabriel" I test on my tongue. Oddly enough I feel the same tingles that I felt while touching his wolf, coat my body.

"Yes?" his low voice says.I snap my eyes to the door to see him leaning on the frame watching me.

I gulp then avert my eyes.

"Tell me it's not true," he asks as he closes the door behind himself.

"What's not true?" I whisper.

"Tell me you're not from the Earth. That you were cursed by the Goddess and had your wolf taken. Tell me" he begs as he approaches me.

I look up to him and try to understand what he is saying. This is too much to comprehend in one day. Way too much.

"I am from Earth," I say and ignore how weird this is.

I watch his face crumble and follow his pacing form around the room.

"You don't know what a Mate is, do you?" he states.

"No- but- this is way too much. I need to go back. Will you help me go back?" I plead with my eyes.

He stops pacing and looks into my eyes. A silent battle can be seen brewing in his mind but all he does is continue to pace.

"I can't- I won't. You have to understand that this isn't easy for me either" he stops at the dark wooden desk in the corner of the room and sits in the seat.

Hard for him? How could this possibly be hard for him? Did he just get kidnapped?

He fiddles with the paper on the desk then moves to fix to the pens. He's fidgeting.

I observe him then realise something. He's nervous. Is he normally like this?

From his dominant aura and powerful body, I can tell that is not it.

I can feel the nerves hiding in the depths of my mind waiting to be released but, for now, I feel calm. Having your world turned upside down shouldn't be this easy.

"Do I make you nervous?" I tease, trying to break the tension in the room.

His body tenses at my joke and the tension only increases.

"What am I to you?" I ask while I watch him look up.

A look of uncertainty crosses his face before he sighs.

"You are my mate," he says.

"What does that mean to you?" I push further.

He sighs again then cradles his head in his hands tugging at his hair.

"You are my gift from the Goddess, the person who is supposed to be my other half. My top priority, my best friend, my lover, my soulmate, my everything" he says it with longing then looks over at me.

I don't know what he expects me to do.

I have already met my soulmate, Adam. I also don't know how to feel, this man has been told he would have me his entire life and now I have already been taken by another. I know how he feels, I thought werewolves were myths until a few hours ago but reality seemed to laugh in my face at that.

"I-I cannot tell you what you want to hear. My heart belongs to another" I say softly.

He halts and squeezes his eyes shut from the pain of my words.

"Adam?" he asks in a broken voice.

My throat tightens at the sound of his name. I can't imagine how worried he must be right now.

My heart sinks when I realise I forgot to call him before my run, he must be so worried. I wonder what has happened back in my world. Has Adam found my car abandoned in the forest? Has he called the police? Has he told my parents? Micah?

"He is my Fiancé" I whisper longingly.

"What is a Fiancé?" he asks. I look up at him but regret it immediately, his eyes swirl with heartbreak and pain. The grey irises showing the colour of a frightening storm.

He really is a open book huh?

"A Fiancé is the stage in a relationship before marriage, which is a way to connect one's soul for life in a way" I try to explain the best I can.

"We call that mating, it's what we are supposed to do once the bond is set," he says with the voice of a broken man.

"I'm sorry" I whisper.

Even though I do not understand this strange world, I do know what having everything ripped away from you feels like.

"Are you sure I am your mate. It could be a mistake" I say with stolen hope, because if it is true then I will have ruined two men's hearts.

"I'm positive. I felt it the moment I saw you when Brad tried to- I knew you were my mate"

"Oh..." is all I say while I look out the window to the left.

After a long pause, Gabriel speaks again, saying a question that will haunt me.

"Can you try? For me"

My eyes dart to his as my heart squeezes in my chest. My eyes show pity as I prepare to tell him.

"My heart is not mine to give anymore... I am truly sorry" I say.

Something changes in his eyes as he looks at me. The portal to his soul closes faster than I can blink and I am met with the eyes of ice.

"You are not a gift but a curse" he spits before he storms out of the room.

The door handle clicks and I jump out of bed. I jiggle the golden handle but it does not move.

He locked me in here.

 He locked me in here
