Mermaid!Chara x Reader

3rd person POV

Y/n watched in Awe as she/he/they saw a gold colored tail disappear under the waves. The excited 8 year old ran towards the waves, forgetting that they/he/she could in fact, not swim. The child trying to lift their tan colored skirt/dress/pants a bit before finding her/him/them self in the water, finally realizing that the water reached his/her/their chin. Panic flooded (HaH) into Y/n's creative mind. They tried to turn but as they failed to realize earlier- this wasn't a place to swim, there was no lifeguard, And the large rocks they had climbed down without realizing were very sharp and the waves were of course- dangerous, even for an adult. Y/n's small body would surely crash into the rocks and a could portion of their bones would definitely crack. Y/n tried to keep still, the water attacking them like crazy. They tried to call for their parent but water just flooded into their mouth, the waves going over their head. Y/n 'breathing' in the water, They were drowning.

Suddenly, the golden tail coming back and Y/n felt an older person swoop her to the rocks, gently placing them on the one closest to land without leaving the water. Y/n coughed and glanced at the person. Brown hair. Brownish red eyes. The persons eyes were apologetic and then they disappeared again. Y/n's parent picked them up, their worried voice being shut out of Y/n's mind as they continued to watch the waves. Briefly, for just a moment, The brick colored eyes appearing and then disappearing again.

12 years later...

Y/n groaned and followed the group of rebels. They were apart of the group but this time, they had come to a certain area. The one where Y/n had nearly drowned and imagined a mermaid- or merman- just a merperson. Y/n's mind hadn't had time to decide what it wanted the person to be. Elyssa tossed a book to Y/n, which they easily caught. The group consisted of Elyssa, Y/n,Malcom and Grace. "We're going to turn into mermaids." Y/n stared at Grace, as if she said that they were going to kill a newborn puppy.

"This is a death wish and stupid." Y/n glared. "Shush Y/n, You only get to have a solar eclipse and be 20 once!" Grace motioned for Y/n to read the book. Y/n opened to the page with a bookmark.

Mermaids are immortal beings, who were once human. In order to turn into a mermaid, you have to remove all your blood from your body and eat raw fish. Then you have to be in water, but you have to be alive . The ritual has to happen during a solar eclipse, at the age of 20 years old.

Y/n dropped the book and stared at the raw fish Grace had shoved at her. They were all eating it so Y/n squeezed their thumb and ate it. Soon Grace had started cutting open everyone's thighs and ankles. Y/n was starting to think that Grace was crazy, but couldn't run because all the blood was draining from their body. Y/n weakly crawled to the rocks. They laid there and felt their arms being cut open. Their half lidded eyes recognized the golden tail from so long ago. Y/n sat up to look at the mermaid/merman who was sitting next to them.

Her entire group was staring at her. The half fish girl. The mermaid hugged Y/n and glared at the other three. "What are you looking at?" Y/n smiled and hugged her back. "You idiots can pull yourselves  into the water, Cya Under Ebott." And with that the mermaid took Y/n under the water. The mermaid let go of Y/n for a few minutes and Y/n felt themself slowly lose consciousness. Y/n woke up in a room laying next to their squad of rebels. Y/n tried to stand up and soon realized they had a tail. It was the same color as (favorite flower)s (The 's' was word 707-)

Y/n searched for the girl. They felt like they could trust her. After a bit of struggling, Y/n taught themself to swim. They found the girl downstairs and hugged her. Her face turned red in embarrassment, quickly shoving Y/n away as a skeleton pirate laughed and made a bunch of mermaid puns. Y/n just shrugged and awkwardly swam back to their 'bed'?

The girl came up and Y/n learned that her name was Chara.

After a few thousand years, Chara and Y/n had a bunch of children somehow and then got married.
