The flavor of the pizza still lingered in my mouth as we started flying toward Colorado. I finally had an idea about were exactly we should go.
Just before the people that saved us left, one of them told me,
"Don't be afraid, and if you ever need help, come to Colorado. Look for an E."
Now at first this seemed strange coming from a six year old, but then again, I was young too.
So we were heading for Colorado. Figuring that the mountains would be the best place to land I started to form a plan. I would look with my raptor vision down on the mountains until I found an E, or at least something that looked like an E, that girl gave me no clues.
I shifted my focus back on flying. We we getting closer to Colorado, I knew, thanks to my good sense of direction that I had gotten from my avian DNA.
"How much longer?" Colton asked in a whiny voice.
"A few hours." I didn't want him to know that we still had about five hours to go before we reached any mountains.
"I'm tired!" He complained. "Can we stop soon?"
He was right, it was getting late, and I had forgotten that he was still a lot smaller than me. He also has had less practice flying.
"Okay," I replied, but I have not the slightest idea of were we will sleep. I have never been this far from New York before.
"we'll land soon C-boy."
