I opened my eyes to be greeted to the sight of Earth's sun rising in the horizon. It has been a few days since me and the "Ruby Squad" as Steven called them, went around Beachcity. Since then Steven has made it his mission to teach me all about the Earth. I didn't mind as I was eager to learn more about this amazing planet.
I let out a content sigh as I felt the morning breeze brush across my physical form. I closed my eyes and was about to go back to meditating, until I heard someone yell my name.
"Red, Red, Red" yelled Steven as he ran up to me. I opened my eyes and smiled. "Hello to you to Steven, so what do you want to tell me" I greeted him. "Garnet wants to see you, she's in the temple" he said.
"Alright, thank you Steven" I shrunk down and made my way towards the temple. I stopped at the top of the steps and watched as Steven was talking to one of his human friends.
I smiled and went inside. When I opened the door I could feel their fear and slight anger. I turned around and closed the door, feeling their stares on my back. "If you're about to do what I think you're going to do, I'd advise you not to" I spoke calmly, while turning around and facing them.
All was silent until the one I presumed as Garnet stepped forward. "I asked for you because there is a mission we need your help with" she said calmly. "And that's it" I asked still suspicious. "That's it" she said while offering me a smile.
"Alright I'll go with you—that's great" I was cut off by Pearl. "Now come along this will only take a mo—but I want to take one of the Homeworld Gems with me" I spoke up interrupting Pearl.
"What no wa—that's fair" Garnet interrupted Bismuth. "I'll be back" I said as I made my way outside. I stood on what I believed Steven called the "Balcony" and looked over the various other Gems.
My first pick was the "Ruby Squad" but I quickly dismissed it, I didn't want a fight breaking out. Don't get me wrong I love them, but they can be a bit annoying at times.
As I looked at the others I heard a voice in the back of my voice whisper "Aquamarine". I shook my head and the whispering was gone. I immediately made my way down and approached Aquamarine.
"Hey Aquamarine can I talk to you for a minute" I asked her. "Of course my Diamond" she said while giving me a diamond salute. "Oh please call me Red, and the saluting isn't required" I said. "As you wish my Diam—I mean Red" she said.
"Would you like to go with me and the Crystal Gems on a mission" I asked. "I'd be delighted to go with you Red" she said giving me a smile. We then made our way back to Steven's "House" as he called it.
"Alright we're ready to go" I said as we entered Steven's home. "Ok, follow me" Garnet spoke while making her way towards the warp pad. She was followed by Pearl, Lapis, Peridot, Aquamarine, and then me.
It only took us about a second or two to reach our destination. I was amazed, instead of standing in Steven's home we were now in what looked like an underwater temple. The others started making their way down towards the Temple's entrance.
I followed after them at a much slower pace, still admiring my surroundings. I finally caught up with the rest of the group, I now stood in front of a giant door shaped like a clam.
"So what did you need me here for" I asked while turning to Garnet. "We need you to open up the door so we may investigate this Temple" she said turning to me having to slightly looking up. "Why couldn't you do it yourself" I asked curiously.
