Chapter 1: Wake up Call (Part 12)

I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. I was glad I didn't have to force anyone. I made my way back to the cafeteria. Mostly everyone was there. They were even sitting in their same seats as yesterday. However; Togami, Toko, Mondo and, Leon weren't there yet. Thankfully, everyone had left Mondo, Leon, and my chair empty. I sat down and glanced around at everyone. They were happy and eating breakfast. It's..a little difficult to believe that we are in....a killing game. Suddenly a very annoying voice was heard.

"Hello everyone! Important announcement! Please gather in the computer lab!" Monokuma yelled over the intercom.

"Computer lab..?" Makoto questioned.

"I did not see a computer lab when investigating..." Kirigiri said as she was already making her way out of the cafeteria. Everyone quickly finished eating and followed in pursuit.

We got to the computer lab rather quickly. Monokuma was sitting a desk in the front of the room.

"Find your names and sit at that computer!" He said. He didn't need to yell.

I found my name, towards the back. Even though there were two chairs at each table, there was one of us at each table. I was behind Leon, to the right of Mondo, and in front of Sayaka. There were tall barriers on our sides and in front of us. Even with Sakura and Mondo's height, they couldn't see over the barrier.

"Put those headphones on, and put your DVD in the disc drive. Have fun. Puhuhuhuhu.." Monokuma laughed.

Those words concerned me. I put the headphones on, and put the DVD in the drive. The screen in front of me turned on and....it showed my parents. I was a spitting image of them. My mom, who looked like me only with longer hair, and my dad who looked like me but much older. His hair starting to turn gray. But...they looked happy.

"We're so proud of you Kiyotaka dear" My mom said.

"Do us proud kiddo. We believe in you.." My dad said, it was the most he had smiled in a while. I felt myself smiling. But then the screen went to static. It made me jump, it was so sudden. Then the turn lit up again. The chairs that my parents were sitting on... The one my mom was on had its cushion ripped to shreds and its legs scratched. The one my dad was on had toppled over. I started shaking....Then Monokuma's voice played over the video.

"Takaaki and Inko Ishimaru. So proud of their son for getting into Hopes Peak. Even though they are all still haunted by the mistakes of his genius grandfather...Puhuhuhuhu.... Their son in the greatest deal of debt. But.... What in the world even happen? And why are people still blaming Kiyotaka's family for what his grandfather did nearly a decade ago...? No one will ever know... Puhuhuhuhu" he laughed as the screen faded. The disc drive opened, and the DVD popped out.
