Monokuma looked like he was sleeping. Was he bored? Then he moved.
"Huh? Yeah, sure whatever.." He said, sounding tired.
"Then why did the killer have to go through the trouble of breaking the knob to get at Maizono?" Chihiro asked.
"Because my door is wonky. There's a trick to opening it" Makoto stated. "They didn't know. Figured the door was locked, to them it was a girl's room. They thought the only option was to bust the doorknob."
"If Naegi were the murderer, he would have known about the door's trick and just opened it normally. Kirigiri added.
"Alright then, let's assume the murderer is someone else. Where would they get the idea that the door was locked? Were they not aware the two had switched rooms and why be there if they didn't?" Celeste asked.
"From the evidence, it is safe to assume thought that he or she was actually in Sayaka's room." Kirigiri said.
"Let me get this straight. You mean the culprit was in the dark about the room swap?" Chihiro asked.
"Please, we were all in the dark about it." Toko remarked.
"This ain't exactly narrowing our list of suspects" Mondo added.
"So? Then we put it to a majority vote. " I tried to be helpful.
"That could work.." Leon said.
"Yeah, we are in a bit of a pinch right? Either we put someone on the chopping block or we all get the ax..." said Yasuhiro. I was glad my statement got us somewhere.
"No need to throw our hands into the air Yasuhiro, the devil is in the details. I urge you all to focus" Celeste said.
"Now that I think about it, if Sayaka was freaked out like Naegi said, how did the killer get into the room in the first place? She would have let them in.." Asahina said.
"Was the lock picked?" Chihiro asked.
"Not possible our rooms are all reinforced electronically ." I said.
"haha, perhap yourselves for a bit of ingenious sleuthing my friends." Hifumi said, that word made me cringe. "Contrary to what we've been thinking I believe that Maizono let the culprit in herself" He finished.
"Come on, we've been over this. She was too scared to open the door." Makoto stated.
"I'd agree with you, except we'd both be wrong" Hifumi remarked.
"I know what I saw. When she came to me, she was practically in tears. I don't know about you but I have a pretty hard time believing she'd answer the door after seeing her like that" Makoto explained.
"Perhaps that was the idea.." Kirigiri said."Her terror could have been a ruse" Did she say that before? So why is everyone else gasping?
"No...she wouldn't lie to me...Sayaka and I were friends" Makoto argued. You were?
"Yes, I will grant you it is an unpleasant possible to think about, but I'm afraid necessary. " Kirigiri said holding up a piece of paper with pencil marks covering one side. It was a note, and according to Kirigiri it said: There's something I want to talk about in private. Please come to my room, make sure to read the name plates so you don't go in the wrong one by mistake, signed Maizono.
"I found this on the notepad in your room. I'm sorry are you trying to say that you wrote the note?" Kirigiri asked handing the note to Makoto.
"No, it wasn't.." Makoto answered.
"I thought so, as you can see the signature is quiet legible" Kirigiri stated.
"I don't get it, why would she.." Makoto started.
"I think she wrote this letter, with intentions of luring someone to their death" Kiri finished.
"Someone would have to be dead inside to overlook a personal invitation from someone of Maizono's caliber. That i, unless they were perfectly satisfied of those of the 2D variety" Hifumi remarked. Fanzine artist, right.
"Yes but, the note clearly says to come to her room. So there we have it then don't we? She wasn't in her room" Celeste said.
"Right. Whoever it was would've gone to where Naegi was by mistake" Chihiro added.
"Ah, but they wouldn't have. Sayaka was clever" Kiri said
