damn y'all fr just want my YS book back huh like. ok hi i'm back i guess
"Taroooo."
"Shh!"
"Tarooo." You repeated in a hushed out voice. Talking was usually really annoying in libraries, but you couldn't help it. Tapping his shoulder repeatedly was funny, too.
"Hold on." He grunted next to you, flipping a page of a book aggressively and scribbling something down on a loose piece of paper he had. "Shouldn't Japanese be easy?!"
"ええ."
"Well that's easy enough, but this stuff isn't. And the English homework? Jesus."
"Just study." You say simply, slumping your shoulders.
Tarp slowly turned to you with a blank expression, narrowed eyes as in 'No, duh'.
"Well, I mean, look at this. 田中さん は 日本語が話せます。 That's so simple, are you really in class 3-2?"
"Shut up, I only got in 'cuz of the prior upperclassmen. They helped."
"I'm no help to you?" You teased, pouting out your lip.
"Shut up, I didn't say that. 野菜 と 肉 食べ ません。 I know this. I know it. But it isn't.. coming to mind..!!" He groaned, getting shushed at by fellow students.
"It literally says 'I don't eat vegetables and meat', idiot." You laughed, underlining each set of characters and labeling.
Taro slumped back, groaning to himself. Japanese is supposed to be easy!! He grew up learning, why and how was this simple stuff difficult?
"Why don't you try the English homework. 'I haven't seen John since the day before yesterday.' That's simple enough, put the question that would be a response to next to it." You guided him to the best of your abilities, underlining key words.
"Uhh.. What.. was John doing yesterday?"
"Nope, try again. What does this," you pointed to 'the day before yesterday', "say?"
"The day before yesterday."
"So instead of saying yesterday, say that."
"Right, okay." He scribbled down 'When did you see John last?' as the question, sliding the paper aside. "Okay, well, it's getting kinda late. Wanna leave? I'll buy ramen bowls."
"Hell yeah."
