Tears of gold against my shoulder,
gemstone eyes glistening in light.
The weight of the world, pressing,
crumbling on top of us, breaking.A dark creature beyond our power
threatening to swallow you whole.
"I'm here," I whisper to you,
breaking through the heavy silence.A flower comes into bloom,
a chance for us all to grow once more.
"I've seen it too," I tell you softly,
"But just because it's there,
doesn't mean you have to face it."I keep you close to me in my embrace,
doing everything I can to try to help."There's a light in us all, deep down,
I'm sure of that much.
And one day, it will be bright enough
that all that darkness and hollowness
will dissipate."I'm not sure if you believed me,
but your tears stopped falling,
your eyes got bright again,
and your heart seemed to open up.So, maybe it helped.
