Chapter 1 "Whoops"

Lance's POV

"Mama hurry I can't miss the train!" Truth is I've not even ready myself yet, I don't want to leave my family but I want to go to Hogwarts soooo....? "Hey buddy you need your socks," Chai is trying to encourage me. My spirit animal is a Phoenix- don't worry they can't set things on fire, their name is Chai but I like to call them chaily just to annoy them. I grab my bags and start heading towards the living area, my shoes are by the door and we have wood floors so I was almost busting my ass every step I took. "Lance you need to hurry and get down here!" Screw it, I started full on running to the living area- once again almost busting my ass. "Stupid socks-" when I get to the living area my mama and sister are there waiting for me. "Bye Lance," Veronica (my sister) gave me a hug goodbye then we set off to find the train I'm supposed to get on.

The address they gave me is supposed to be around here right? "Lance I think the train is over there." Chai nudges my head the direction of a wall. "What?..Chai that's a wall." They give me a smirk then the wall opens up to another train station. "Ok then.." I smile back at my mom and she has tears in her eyes, "oh mama," I ran up to her and gave her one last hug before I head off. "Bye lance." The wall is starting to close so I hurry and jump through the wall with my bags and all.

"Everyone must be on the train in five minutes or we're leaving without you!" A loud voice is yelled out at all the soon-to-be students hurrying them up onto the train.

The train is crowded by people and their bags, followed by their spirit animal- or familiar. Some people have smaller familiars like bunny's or mice while others have a- Panther? A PANTHER??? Yea you heard me, I walked past a seating box and saw a guy with a PANTHER familiar- jeez that guys soulmate must be something else.

All of the other seating boxes are full of people which leaves the only one left is- "Hey tall guy!" Oh no, a short girl is calling after me. She has brown hair, big round glasses, green eyes, and is approaching me. "H-hi?" I turn around and Chai looks as confused as me. "Wanna come sit in our box? We only have one seat left." The girl is pointing to the box where I saw the panther boy. "Um sure? There nowhere else to sit anyways." She grabbed ahold of my arm and lead me to the seating box.

There were two other boys there, one was a more tall,round guy with a Opossum familiar and then the other guy- the panther guy. He was a more of a short boy with raven hair, that's all I could see really- he was looking out the window and the panther laying on his lap. "Hi I'm pidge and these are my friends!" Jesus she made me jump. "Howdy, I'm Hunk nice to meet you-?" "Oh my names Lance," Pidge smiles at me and pats the seat next to her. "Hey Keith introduce yourself!" The raven haired panther boy didn't look away from the window but said "I'm Keith." Wait- does this guy have a mullet? That's a stupid haircut. "Nice to meet you too mullet." That gained a glare from him. "Whoa sorry," he continued to look out the window, the moving scenery was really beautiful though so I don't blame him.

We were all given sleep masks for on the train since it's such a long drive. So of course I had fallen asleep with Chaily sitting on my shoulder still awake. Pidge,Hunk,and me and all fallen asleep hearing the sound of the rain hitting our window.

I'm woken up by a very loud strike of thunder. "What the," Pidge and Hunk slept through that? Keith had finally fallen asleep and had his head resting on the window, The panther looking up at me with sparkling blue eyes. I give a little wave to it and smile before looking at Chai which had fallen asleep against the window as well. "Guess it's just me and you awake huh?" My smile started to fade away as the thoughts of my family start flooding my mind, they all loved the rain and being on a train. The panther and noticed my sadness and was rubbing up against my leg purring. "Thanks," It looked up at me once more then said "I'm Lace." "Well nice to meet you Lace, I'm Lance." We shake hands- or paws? I don't know anymore at this point. Keith woke up and saw me and Lace shaking- whatever- "what do you think you're doing?" His words reminded me of Chaily when I wouldn't get out of bed in the mornings. "Nothing, Me and Lace were the only ones awake so I was talking to them." Lace looks back at Keith and nods in agreement. "Fine,whatever I'm going back to sleep." I decided to do the same since I'd rather not get scolded by mullet head again.

The train had come to a stop when I had woken up, I'm guessing that Pidge had woken up not to long ago while Hunk I could tell had been awake for a couple of hours. Keith on the other hand had woken up right as I did, weird right? Chaily was on my shoulder scolding me over sleeping so long while Keith was scolding Lace over getting his beauty sleep- his? Was Keith's Soulmate a guy? Whatever it's none of my business anyways.

Everyone was sent to go get their bags and to get off the train as soon as possible. They had also said that the people in your seating box you would ride with to the actual school.

Pidge, Hunk, Keith, and I took were on a carriage- that was being pulled by eagle horse things? Ok then, haven't seen that before.

There was a somewhat tall guy holding the carriage door open for us, "thanks." I give a smile and close the door behind me since I'm the last person on. Hunk had the only seat left next to him so I (of course) sat down. We were pretty high off the ground and it was about an hour drive to the actual school on the carriage. The seats were placed horizontal across from each other with a carpet in between.

Most of the ride there was pretty uneventful, until Pidge said something. "So Lance, How is it having a Muggle family?" "Wha-" I was caught off guard by the sudden question. "Oh um, I don't know? It's just normal, no spells or wands." She seemed actually intrigued and not like she was gonna make fun of me. "Pidgeon here is really into Muggle things like food, sports, books, and a lot of other things so don't take it personally." Her Familiar was talking, it was a brown and white barn owl with really pretty yellow eyes. The conversation had continued but had turned into a conversation about what house they want to get into. "Oh trust me, Slytherin is the best house!" Pidge is so excited and basically out of her seat. "Do you know amazing Hufflepuff is?" Hunk is on the side of Hufflepuff of course. Keith and I were just watching this thing go down, Pidge and Hunk each giving great reasons on which one was the best house. "What house do you want to be in?" I cut off pidge and hunks conversation and asked Keith. "Gryffindor." Great another short ass answer. "And yours?" Honestly I don't know what house I want to be in, they're all great in their own ways. "Um I don't know really." Lace smiles at my answer. "You seem like a good Slytherin!" Pidge jumped up at me. "Maybe," I just have to shrug and go along with it.

"BAM" the carriage hit a rock or something and it made everyone jump out of their seats. Unlike everyone else I had been standing up because of Pidge, she said that I was a wimp if I didn't stand up for at least five seconds. Unlucky for me, the carriage hitting a rock was all that my body needed to fall over backwards- over the rail.

I would like to add something! If your soulmate is in a bad mood your familiar will be in that same mood, that includes every single mood. Also if your soulmate gets hurt on purpose it will hurt your familiar, but only on purpose!
