Surprise Meeting

Chapter 5

Shina sighed finally in his own room again. He closed the door behind him his heart racing. The master was being surprisingly nice to him and he didn't understand why.

He sighed and began getting dressed, he slipped on a button up shirt and a pair of pants that he honestly didn't care about. He smiled softly and finished getting ready, he left the room and the hair on his back weighing on him.

He needed to find May and cut it for him. He walked down the hall finishing buttoning the last button on his shirt, he wasn't paying attention and his face slammed directly into a firm chest. He jumped and looked up, "Ah! Master, I didn't see you!" He said blushing as Connors hands were on his elbows steadying him.

"That's alright. I was thinking I would take you into town and get your hair cut. That is if you wish it." He said looking down at him.

"I thought all employees had to get their hair cut if it was too long. Something about lice." He said looking confused.

"Yes I make all the others do so. But I feel you may have grown your hair that long for a reason. Do you wish to cut it?" Connor asked moving his hands off Shina.

Shina tilted his head and thought a moment. "Yes! I want to get rid of it! I'm thinking something short with bangs." he smiled brightly.

"Alright then! Let's get going." Connor said happily and he escorted Shina to the car where he opened the door for him and let him slide through to the other side.

Shina hummed to himself softly as Connor told the driver where they were going. He looked out the window the trees passing by almost in a flash. He sighed pulling his attention into the car.

"Master? Will you tell me what happened last night?" He asked softly his ears flattening.

Connor stiffened and looked over at Shina, "What happened last night? you drank too much at dinner and I didn't want to pick you up and walk you to your room so I just carried you to the bed and laid you down. Then I thought about sleeping on the couch but remembered it was my bed and I slipped in next to you and you cuddled up to me. And then you fell asleep Shina. Nothing else happened. Although last night I asked you to call me Connor." He said shaking his head looking away.

Shina blushed darkly and smiled, "Connor...I don't remember you telling me that. But I shall. When it is just you and I." He said looking back out the window. "You think the person who will cut my hair could cut my fur as well? It is getting long on my tail." he blushed and laughed softly. As he spoke his fingers trailed through his tail which had grown puffy from the lack of maintenance. He badly needed it cut shorter because it got caught on everything.

He looked up at Connor and he blushes lightly. He watched as the male before him looked at him as well, "I'm sure she won't mind. She is a great stylist and she could probably do it for you." Connor said and Shina nodded. He looked out the window once more seeing the city coming into view about them.

He wasn't surprised to see that the city was already up and lively. Lights on every building and small hut were ablaze as well as people walking down the streets taking with them horses and wagons full of food supplies. They awed as they drove by looking at the gleaming car as it passed. Most were poor folk, the city was ran like a class system.

Started off poor at the outskirts and gradually moved to the middle of the city where all the rich life accumulated itself. They would be visiting the middle class, a small barber who worked for a cheap amount on servants hair. Shina sat up some as it came into view, he smiled lightly seeing the quant little house with a sign that read "Snips and Clips".

Connor motioned to the driver to drop them off and told them to be back in an hour or so, he then turned to Shina and motioned for him to go ahead of him. Shina did as he was told and walked into the small home and smiled as he saw two women standing up above two men getting their hair clipped.

Connor cleared his throat and the blonde headed woman looked up and smiled happily noticing the two new customers. "Oh hello!!!!! Young master it's so great to see you!" She ran over hugging Connor around the waist and then pulled away doing the same to Shina and he blushed darkly letting a small squeak out.

She pulled away and happily pinched his cheek making an ow come from his lips but he stayed silent other than that. "He is adorable Connor! Where did you find him at?" She said and backed off them both looking up at Connor. He was slightly taller than her small figure but it was still needed to look up.

She had a tattered dress on but had no holes you could simply tell it was older worn away by constant wear. She had her blond curls tied back with a piece of fabric. Her features were cute but not much of a beauty but she wasn't ugly either. Small freckles dotted over her nose and cheeks and it matched her cute sandy blonde hair.

"I found him on the streets. He needed a home and I'm just a great person you know me." Shina heard Connor speaking and he pulled himself back out of his thoughts. "He needs a hair cut, and if you could trim his fur as well on his tail?" He asked and moved his hands pulling the tail into sight gently showing it to her.

"Ohhhh! He is so cute!!! I can do it for you heh it will be wonderful!" She said and smiled motioning for the open chair the man had just stood from being finished. "My name is Sarah, it is a pleasure to meet you!" She said with a bright smile looking over at Connor's cute little kitty.

"Hello, my name is Shina..." He said gently and shook her hand gently before going to the chair awaiting him and sitting down. Finally he would be able to be free of the matted hair on his back.

He got comfortable and he just listened silently as Connor and Sarah talked back and forth with one another simply enjoying the feel of the woman's hands in his hair. Before he knew it he could feel his head becoming lighter and lighter the longer they talked with her.

Shina would nod and would speak when spoken too but no more than that. Finally after a few hours all of his hair was on the floor and he had a short new look that @bad @only sweeper right above his eyes. He smiled happily and admired himself in the mirror.

"Oh my gosh...you did a wonderful job! My ears are trimmed and my tail is beautiful! Thank you so much!" He said and hugged her tightly around the waist. The new hair cut made him look his age, if not just a few years younger and it suited him. His ears had no hiding room now and his tail freely moved behind him.

Shina smiled up at Connor and he smiled at her too, "Thank you!" He said happily and watched as Connor paid and Sarah and him parted with a hug. When they left the house with goodbyes and waves and sadly the car was not there.

Connor sighed lightly and he chuckled, "would you like to have something for lunch with me? We are in the middle class side of town and no one will notice your status compared to mine less we say so." He smiled over at the now clean and groomed boy.

Shina brightened up and smiled beaming up at Connor, "I would love to! Where ever you want to go though I've never eaten out or anything like that so.." He said softly playing with his fingers looking at all the people his tail and ears trying to move out of sight from everyone.

"Alright I'll pick then....you'll like it I hope!" Connor smiled down at him and ruffled his now soft hair and he started to walk down the street knowing the car would stay here and they would just walk back.

Shina didn't know where they were gong but he trusted Connor to pick a wonderful place for him to try. He was open to everything and he didn't know what he liked and what he didn't so he wasn't picky yet, he just liked the warm meals and he appreciated Connor for allowing him to be his equal when he was out of uniform.
