I looked out on the city's landscape as the sun went down. It was peaceful, for once. I was supposed to be looking for any signs of Hawkmoth planning a surprise attack, but I kind of wanted to just stay on the roof. I sighed and stood up. I heard a crash, but it sounded off. I went to check it out. An akumatized villain with a sword was holding Chat noir. The blade was at his throat. I whined softly. "Let him go!" I yelled. The villain smirked. She pulled the sword away, the blade covered in red. "Chat noir!" I yelled, running over. I grabbed my sword and threw it at the person, I didn't see where it hit them. I picked up Chat noir carefully, putting his head on my lap. My vision blurred. "I'm sorry…" I whined softly. I had failed him, I was supposed to protect my teammates. To stop this from happening to any of them. There was a green light, Chat had de transformed. I gasped at who it was. "Adrien?" I whispered. No, it couldn't be…
I shot up, breathing quickly. I was on the couch in Adrien's room, right… But the cover was over top of me. I looked around. Adrien's bed was empty. I took a breath and got off the couch slowly. I went to the door quietly. The door opened, making me yelp and jump back. I nearly fell over but caught myself just in time. "Y/n?" A voice whispered. I sighed, it was only Adrien. "What happened? Are you okay?" Adrien asked, closing his door again. I shook my head slowly. "Just a bad dream." I said. Adrien looked like he nodded. "You want to talk about it?" He asked. I held my breath for a second, letting it out slowly. "Not really…" I said. I felt Adrien put his arms around me. I took a breath, hugging him back with one arm. "I'll always be here if you need me y/n." He said. I nodded once. 'But not if you get hurt doing it.' I thought. Adrien let me go. I went back over to the couch, sitting back down. Adrien sat next to me. I couldn't see his face, but I could tell Adrien was looking at me. It was silent for a while. Adrien sighed.
I yawned slightly. "You should go back to sleep y/n." He said. I nodded. Adrien stood up and grabbed a pillow. I grabbed the blanket and laid down. "I want to thank you again Adrien. I don't know where I would have gone if you didn't decide to help me." I said, yawning again. I heard Adrien chuckle. "I would do anything for my friends y/n." Was all he said, maybe there was more said: but I couldn’t tell. I half smiled and fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow again. I woke up the next morning to the sound of a door opening and closing. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. Adrien must have left. I sighed softly, sitting up slightly. I knew it was Friday. I swung my legs, carefully, over the edge of the couch. I reached for my crutches and stood up shakily. "Guess I'll have to get used to this." I muttered. "You'll get the hang of it y/n." Yin said suddenly. I nodded. "Yeah, but I won't be able to help if Hawkmoth decides to attack again." I said softly. Yin nodded, Yang came out. He looked worried. I knew it was something having to do with those dreams. The door opened slowly, Yin and Yang ducked for cover. Adrien walked in, not seeming to notice I was awake yet. I sat back on the couch silently. Adrien turned, seeing me and screamed in shock. I started laughing. "That is not funny y/n!" He said while I was still laughing. I took a breath. "You screamed like a girl!" I said, starting to laugh again.
Adrien walked over and moved my crutches. "Hey!" I said, realizing what he did. Adrien chuckled, moving them farther away and out of my immediate reach. I half growled and stood up slowly. Being me, I fell after taking only one step. Adrien caught me in a cliche pose that ended with his arms around my waist and behind my back, and us looking at each other. Adrien chuckled lightly, making my cheeks turn a light shade of pink. "This is all your fault Agreste." I growled as he helped me sit back on the couch. "I didn't think you would try to stand up L/n." He countered, putting my crutches back within reach again. I huffed, still blushing lightly. "The teachers allowed you to have a day to get used to the cast and crutches. You don't have to come in y/n." Adrien said. I rolled my eyes. "How do you know that?" I asked in an inquisitive tone. Adrien rubbed the back of his neck, it was kind of cute. "I kind of asked them to allow it." He said. I didn't say anything for a few moments. "Well I'm still going. There's nothing else to do anyway." I said. Adrien shook his head lightly. "What about going to see your brother?" He mused. I held my breath for a second. "I don't think I'll be able to see him for a while. After what happened with Puppeteer, you know?" I said too quickly. Adrien hesitated before nodding slowly. “He would be worried about you y/n.” He said softly. I nodded. “I can’t look at him right now. It’s… it’s really just too soon right now.” I said back. Adrien nodded again, seeming to understand. I just hoped b/n didn’t try to find me on his own. It really would not help with the fact I had a cast now. B/n would just put himself in even more trouble, trying to ‘protect his little sister’. I wasn’t a little helpless girl anymore, I had been taking care of myself for almost eleven years. (Pretend your birthday is the day before Christmas, just for plot reasons). I had spent years alone, and I was capable of taking care of myself. I sighed. I was going to have to go to the apartment either way, to change into different clothes. Ones that were school appropriate. Adrien seemed to have the same thought process as me. “If we leave now, there might be enough time for you to change.” Adrien suggested. I nodded and smiled. “Sounds good.” I replied.
Small skip
Adrien helped me up the stairs and to the door. I leaned against the wall and grabbed my key from my bag. I unlocked the door and opened it slowly. I half expected B/n to open it all the way and ask here I had been for so long. Instead, there was silence: B/n must have gone to work already. Adrien helped me inside the apartment without tripping over some random object. “I’ll be okay now Adrien.” I said. “Okay.” He said. Once I got inside my room, Yin and Yang came out. “Are you sure you don’t want to take a day off y/n?” Yin asked. She sounded worried still. I nodded. “If I do, people might start to think I’m hiding something. I can’t let anybody get suspicious.” I said cautiously. I went carefully over to the dresser and pulled out a long/short sleeved f/c shirt along with a long/short s/f/c shirt. A skirt may not really be my style but it would be easier to put on with the cast. I ran my hands through my h/l/c hair and opened my purse. Yin and Yang went inside and I closed it.
